I like to shite on A&M as much as anyone but the violent crime rate in College Station is below both the national and TX average.

Didn't one of his sons get their truck stolen and he wouldn't let them leave campus?

If you are in a city where you are not safe because you have things people want and will steal.. That city isn't a place to live.

Which is why it is amazing he did as much as he did at JSU.

The “community” was stealing shite left and right while he was trying to bring some focus to it through their program.

UCLA is adjacent to Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and Brentwood, upscale as it gets. Years ago, an Asian female student was shot and killed by a stray bullet in a gang shootout in Westwood Village. It made the national news. Her family was devastated.

Very sad.

But not sure what one freak tragedy has to do with the wildly misleading graphic about dangerous campuses designed to stir up paranoid old folks looking at their Facebook feeds the OP posted.

If being caught in a chance gang shootout is the criteria, I can think of 500 campuses off the top of my head that are much more likely spots than any on this list.

Holy cow half of the top ten is universities from the state of California. And 6 overall in top 20. What a cesspool that state is.

Not that this is indicative of anything, but there might be more lambos in la jolla than black people

They're likely driving Lambos too if they're in La Jolla. If there's a criticism of that area it would be over surveillance and unnecessarily high police/security presence. It's the kind of place where they actually ticket for jaywalking.

If there are any "facts" behind this "ranking" at all it's schools that have extremely low thresholds for campus police officially reporting things like verbal arguments, mild bullying etc as potential domestic/hate crimes.

That kind of over active policing probably coincides with campuses that are among the safest for what people think of as dangerous crime.

The people publishing this list know that too but did it anyway to get Facebook shares from riled up old folks.

I go to Fordham a few times a year (to see basketball) and I have always felt very safe there. Just a few blocks away is an incredible "second little Italy" for NYC with amazing food. Now 10 blocks away from that....not so nice...

If you go...

That's now being added to list of of violent UCSD campus crimes.

The one "crime" I recall was a kid that staged a "protest" seemingly for weeks on the steps of Geisel where he just played sitar tapes all afternoon on a boom box with a sign that said "Sitars Against The Administration"

Public service announcement- If you are male on A&M campus at night and are approached by a group of men dressed as milkmen tell them you are headed to the rally. This should confuse them long enough for you to get the hell out of there. If you are female, none of this applies they will not approach you.

UCLA & USC isn't surprising. In L.A. and they are located in a not so great part of town right?

UCLA is in a very nice part of Los Angeles. Very nice. USC is in a rough part of LA not far from downtown.

Any list of most dangerous college campuses with LSU left out of the top 20 is shite .

I bet the list is about reporting. For example the regular street fights that happen at LSU tailgates near the north gates never get reported but any skirmish at aTm probably gets reported.

Most cities are like this. NOLA is well known that one block is the perfect neighborhood, next block is a shite hole then back to the perfect neighborhood.

UH only borders the hood on one side across the athletic facilities and metro line. LSU also borders the hood on one side.

I’d put Georgia State University well above nearly all of those in terms of danger.
