What a trash list. College Station is one of the safest campuses in the country.
Without a doubt. My SIL lives in Bryan, College Station is a great college town. All of TD bangs on the Aggies, I get it for fun, but the place is clean and safe as can be. How LSU is not on that list, given what went on this past football season, is beyond me. Just ask yourself, if you've been to both B.R. and College Station, which city would you rather your kids live in, it's a pretty easy answer.

I also get USC....very hood when you go off one side of campus. Michigan State... Lansing can be a rough place. But Washington is in a really good area of Seattle.... a lot of burn outs near campus but they are mostly harmless.

But so many people have basically told me that walking on LSU's campus is like walking through Mogadishu

How is UC San Diego, located in La Jolla, the 5th most dangerous campus?

Iowa with all the white fans and hospital kids is surprising.
Not really. Most university hospitals are located in bad areas.

the surface, this list makes no sense. Idk what criteria they are using.
Immediately suspicious that its some social bullshite like “This state has lax gun laws” or “isnt an LGBBQ welcoming campus” something like that.

Agreed. I was raised an LSU fan and have two degrees from there. I'd still much rather my kids go to aTm than LSU.

Would have expected Temple on this list and Maryland much higher

Typical response with no substance. B.R. is a shithole, I went to school there 35+ years ago, it's not the same. A gay son would fit in better at woke LSU than ATM to be honest. "Thot" not sure what that refers to, but I'm sure it would fit in better at a woke U.

I keep hearing how LSU is the worst and most dangerous. Well looks like there’s a few SEC people that have been living in some glass houses.

A little research and it’s based off of the Clery Act. The Clery Act organizes campus incidents into several categories, including criminal offenses (such as burglary, assault, motor vehicle theft, etc.), VAWA offenses (dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking), and hate crimes (offenses motivated by bias).

Michigan State is in East Lansing which is very much not the ghetto. Very strange to see them on this list, kinda makes me question this whole thing cuz wtf lol.
Lansing isn’t even bad enough to put them on this list even if they were in Lansing. There’s easily 10 cities just in Michigan that are more dangerous.

The list is pretty dumb overall, but you did see a bunch of the list was in California right?
As someone in AZ, Grand Canyon is in one of the most ghetto areas of the Phoenix metro, so it kinda makes sense. Arizona state doesn't really make as much sense unless they are painting with a wide brush as far as what areas the school is in.
College Station #1 by itself with no Baton Rouge at all makes the list pretty silly though.

Even the hood parts of Los Angeles have been gentrified to the max. East Asian college students with wealthy families have taken over places like Englewood and Compton

A 2025 study, often referencing data from the Department of Education, ranked the most dangerous college towns based on crimes per 10,000 residents:
Most Frequent Crimes: Burglaries (23%), sexual assault (21%), and motor vehicle theft (19%) are the most common crimes reported on campus.

Those are easily explained by the very real crime there. On Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, you quite literally have to step over the homeless sleeping on sidewalks, and many of them are obviously not of sound mind. You’d Expect a campus like that to make the list. You cant ignore crime rates. But College Station? Iowa? More dangerous than a campus like Wayne State in Detroit? Please. Theres some frickery in that methodology.
