Think about all the closeted gays in the more Christian areas of the country. I bet the numbers are staggeringly high.

Yeah Houston is often ranked as the most diverse city or pretty close to it. And it might be as diverse as the Bay Area but I really don't think as diverse as LA. But most of the south is black and white.

I think most people are pretty indifferent about the issue these days. It's when people are forced to feel as though they have to accept and celebrate certain things that they start to resent the message.

I'm a live and let live kind of guy. I just think it's noteworthy that a certain lifestyle is so prevalent in the media and entertainment that the populace thinks there are 6 times (or more) what there actually is.

The south and the Bay Area are extreme opposites on the racial spectrum.
I see and work with black people everyday---the difference is that they are college-educated professionals working at one of the biggest corporations in the world.
People in the south don't run into that s0 much so they assume a lot of things bout black people based on their own experience.
Therein lies the problem--not so much as racism as prejudice: people prejudge black people based on their own experiences.
I see a black person at work and I wonder where he went to college or what department he works in.

Can they get married in all 50 states? I honestly don't know. If so than good for them.
I know some people may be tired of "gay rights" being thrown in their face. I understand that. But on the flip side I also see why gay people would be frustrated that it took so many decades for a simple thing like the right to get married. It's a basic human right (in a free nation) and I don't get why it was illegal to begin with.

There's your problem. They have been totally discredited after the election. They STILL have Hillary Clinton as the most admired woman in the U.S. for the 21st year in a row.
The most admired woman in the U.S. for 21 years in a row, couldn't win a majority of electoral votes, so take that for what it's worth.
I've read the real number is closer to 0.03% of the population.

.03% = 3 in 10,000 people are gay
Do you believe that? I would believe that for transgenders.
Also to the guy that said at 6% of the population you could possibly live your life in SF without seeing a black person
6% = 6 in 100 or 3 in 50 people
How many people do you see a day? Unless you are a total shut in you are going to see multiple black people every single day
