I think people on here would be shocked how upscale and rich large portions of Mexico City are. Some areas are quite cosmopolitan and they have multiple world class, Top 100 restaurants in the world. (Obviously large portions are also the worst slums you can imagine)

That being said, there are few terms I hate more than “gentrification”. Such utter nonsense.

What a stupid bitch. They're only polite to her because of her money. The minute that dries up, she'll be hauling arse back to the "exhausting" and "racist" US.

You nailed it. I love how the author had to throw a dose of racism into the article bashing the US. If they wanted to talk racism, then address the elephant in the room that is the Mexicans not wanting us LEGALLY in their country as they illegally invade ours.

Exactly, people were a little surprised we went there but it was a great place. Felt safer than many American cities, weather was nice and cool in June, walkable neighborhoods and parks, and incredibly cheap and good food.

It's just an acceptable way to say "white people are raising my cost of living."

There is no equivalent term for "xxx race is making my neighborhood loud and violent"

Funny cause Mexicans are way more racist than Americans. She probably just doesn’t know Spanish and doesn’t know what they are saying about her

I work with quite a few Mexicans and have a Mexican neighbor. They really hate black people and don't hide it.

Yes, Portugal is having the same problem with Californians and want them gone.
White liberals are a plague.

The Californians I’ve met who have moved to Northern Kentucky came because they hate what their state has become. They chose Kentucky, Northern Kentucky in particular because of how conservative we are but still have a booming economy in the Cincinnati metro area. Many of them work across the river in Ohio but live here because we’re redder on this side.
