Pretty sure the US has had some spec ops teams in the region. We don't hear about 90% of the clandestine stuff they do.

This particular guy had been living in Niamey, Niger since 2012 working as a missionary pilot. I wouldn’t call that a write off to travel.

From Niger’s Wikipedia
quote:

Religion (2012)[
99.3% Islam
0.3% Christianity
0.2% Animism
0.1% irreligion

That’s gonna be a No from me dog.

He has hope with Trump as President. If Kamala was in charge, she would be like, We cannot do anything at this time.

Dude I don't think someone would just choose to go to Niger if they could go anywhere if they wanted to just write off travel

I hope you don’t take this the wrong way, but at least try to understand what this quote really means instead of bastardizing the hell out of it.

It’s not meant to be some hop scotch checklist to be completed sequentially. It speaks to the ripple effect each and every one of our own individual actions has on the rest of the world depending on whether or not we hold love, or hate, in our hearts. The fact that these guys are willing to go to a place like that to do the good work, when I am not, tells me that I have a lot of work to do in my own. We all do. Then, maybe someday, in some lifetime, guys won’t get kidnapped or killed in some shithole country while trying to help others who have been left behind.

Hope this helps.

We had 1000+ boots on the ground there up until about a year ago.

There was a regime change in July 2023, and the new regime asked us to leave.

There was an incident in 2017 where 4 of our people were killed by Islamic terrorists.

I find it very irresponsible of this guy to attempt to raise his family of 4 girls in a shithole like that. What was he thinking?

If you want to risk your own life, fine, but don't involve your wife and daughters.

And now the lives of American troops may be put at risk trying to rescue him.

Side note: the last American that was kidnapped by Islamic terrorists there was released after 7 years in captivity.
