Some of you really need to stop celebrating the job losses. Economies are interconnected in many ways across the public and private sphere. I've always been of the mindset that who cares where someone be works as long as they work.
The entire public vs private sector debate is juvenile for the simple fact that many private sector jobs aren't any better than there public counterparts. You have lazy workers and non productive elements in private companies. The difference is is usually a matter of scale and nepotism/indifference of the employer.
This isn't a stab at small businesses, but it is a wake-up call that nobody, regardless of work ethic, is safe.

Once Covid-19 hit, things went from bad to worse really quick,” said Simon, a father of two in Summerfield, North Carolina.
A marketing specialist with a sales-training company, Simon lost his job along with several colleagues on April 7 -– less than two weeks into a state-wide lockdown to counter the pandemic. He says many who survived the firm’s layoffs saw their pay cut by 10%.
That’s happening all over the country.
A tsunami of job losses, which began among workers in restaurants, hotels and factories, is now reaching the offices of white-collar America --- where analysts and engineers find themselves among the rapidly swelling ranks of the unemployed.

There are some that want the economy to tank for political reasons.

The only weird people are those who support maintaining a shutdown and think the job losses don’t matter.
Gonna bounce right back, y’all. /s

You really believe private business puts up with laziness and ineffectiveness as much as government does?

Not as much, particularly small businesses.
A more accurate representation is small businesses have to be efficient because they can't afford the liability. One big mistake will sink them and they can't easily recover.

I think some would gladly sacrifice hundreds of thousands of energy jobs so they can save $10 per tank

I know I'm only one person but it will add up with other like me. I also usually tip big as I really appreciate good service. That cash ain't gonna be flowing

Yesterday their was a thread about people getting laid off or furloughed from government jobs and most posters were happy with it.
I personally don't agree because that only leads to more government involvement in the future than what we already have. The government isn't going to let anyone starve to death or whatever fantasy some of you have against Democrats.

No one is celebrating job losses and public sector workers are entirely less talented, motivated and hard working as their private sector counterparts.

Fox news tell you that?
There is a member of Congress who seemed pretty damn happy at the oil industry tanking, you can find reference to it on this site

They may not be actively celebrating
But they think 40 million new unemployed is fine if it saves a few lives

I don't think too many believe this either, but that's VASTLY different than what OP said.
The entire service industry is dead and I would image be the vast majority of those jobs were held by liberals. So without citing the BS misleading "extra $600 a week" line, why would they be happy for losing their own jobs?

Humor me. Can you name one person or TigerDroppings.com account that has celebrated the job losses?
If you do not, I'll assume it's because you made it up.

All part of the plan. The middle class is a source of unending angst to the other classes.

An entire educated job force, with no one hiring. So many of my friends are so fricked. This is unreal and awful.
