Much lower than I would have guessed given how wealthy Northern Virginia is.

Totally agree. Would have thought they’d be much higher

Those numbers seem low with home equity and 401Ks all taking huge leaps the past 4-5 years

Half of Atlanta millionaires are from welfare.

Damn, surprised to see Miami with so few. With the high cost to live there, there are a lot of broke mfer's trying to live that lavish life..

Dallas numbers seem low, especially if they're lumping Ft. Worth in with Dallas

Is this checking and saving accounts?

Don’t know if it’s the case here, but some of the surveys of number of millionaires explicitly exclude 401ks and home equity.
Just depends on the definition they use.

I understand doing it for home equity but excluding 401Ks doesn't make sense

nor home equity if they're lumping that in with mortgage fee rental/investment properties

Curious that if that stat is for permanent residents? Miami has got to be higher on that list for sure.

Surprised Nashville isn't on there with the music money and all the "famous" people that move there, unless it's only the metro area that counts.

If you’re excluding these things you’re not accurately measuring net worth. Or millionaire status. Pre-tax dollars do need to be adjusted for eventual taxation.

The Somalis in Minneapolis need to step it up

In NYC, a million dollar apartment is a one bedroom in an okay neighborhood.
