There is a 99.9% chance this story is complete bullshite or, at minimum, completely disingenuous of what actually happened. But, this is what comes from a culture that glorifies "victims". Every bozo wants to be some sort of "victim".
I saw such a thing happen first hand on a recent flight. As we were taxiing to the runway for takeoff the flight attended, very politely, asked a black woman who was typing on her phone to please not text while we were approaching takeoff. The woman, of course, snapped back and said she wasn't "texting" and was typing in the notepad app while condescendingly asking the flight attendant "have you ever heard of that?". The the woman, and her pussy boyfriend, said to the flight attendant "I don't see you telling anyone else to stop typing. Is there a reason for singling me out." (Implying it was done because she was black). To her credit, the flight attended bristled back "Yes. There is. It's because you're the only one not following the rules." More vague claims of "racism" followed.
Now, I'm sure when she tells the story is wrought to accusations of Delta's racist flight attendant, when the actual version of what happened is far, FAR different
Moral of the story: Most "victims" today are full of shite
