Breaking from WSJ.

Amazon, Apple, and Google are penalizing Parler because of political differences. Parler is a Twitter competitor.

Twitter has been criticized for censoring non-progressive viewpoints and recently shut down the accounts of Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump Jr., Candace Owens, Dan Bongino, Rudy Giuliani, Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, and others.

Not sure why they thought rural Brazil would be able to handle their servers

These tech companies have formed a conglomerate more powerful than just about any government on the planet

They control to a high degree all of the information flowing to your average person and are being very active about influencing it

Do you really get $15.00 a month of value out of them ?

I have a teenager so we are always ordering stuff but every time I see their charge come through I think about cancelling my account.

I use their video library also but for the price I could get HULU and HBO

This has to be an antitrust issue.

They are trying to force Parker’s hand to censor conservatives.

If a gay person asks you to bake a cake, you have to do it. But frick you if you are a non-progressive and need professional services from a left leaning company.

It has nothing to do with political differences, it has everything to do with what they promote. And what they promote played a factor in what happened on Wednesday.

Alex Jones was responsible for people harassing parents whose kids were killed at sandy hook because he was telling everyone it was staged and everyone involved were actors. Didn't it lead to one of the parents killing themselves?

Rush Limbaugh has been a tool for a segment of the Republican party for years. Either way, as I keep saying, these companies can do whatever they want. This doesn't take away these people's freedom of speech, it just doesn't allow them to use that platform to share their freedom of speech.

Rival may not be the right term. Twitter is Bama and Parler is North Texas. They aren’t exactly rivals.

I'd say Parler is closer to a DII school. William & Mary or something.

Nicolas Maduro has killed thousands of political dissidents the past few years and has an active account. The Ayatollah of Iran also has an active account. Explain this.

We've become no better than China.

While this is not the government censoring speech, we have allowed these companies to position themselves in such a way they pretty much control the ability to distribute communication on the internet.

What's ironic is that (as far as I can tell) it appears that Amazon can do this because of the Republican effort to repeal net neutrality.
