Everything you just said is objectively incorrect. I had full albums saved in my library that I could listen to, start to finish, yesterday. I just opened the app and can no longer listen to those albums. If I click on one, it will play a random song from that album
Is this a free service or included with prime?

My playlists have been polluted with songs I don’t want and Amazon has left a random note saying I can have my playlists back for $10.99 a month. Even albums are playing out of order. I have a playlist of songs for running. I normally pick one of the slower songs to warm up and set it to shuffle the rest of the playlist. Now, I cant pick the starting song and I just heard the same song three times in a row. They also stuck in a “sound alike” song for one that they couldn’t get from the original artist.

Well, this is definitely a downgrade from what it was yesterday. I will cut way back on using Amazon Music, if I use it at all.

I’ve been logged in for years, so Im not 100% sure, but I believe included with Prime, not free to anyone.

I looked at it.
The play button has just basically been replaced by a permanent shuffle button. This is a mistake in my opinion, a bug. No way they would launch this and force everyone to only shuffle music.
This will get fixed soon.

Possible, but I don’t think it’s a bug. Too many graphical changes in the app, including the shuffle icon showing up next to literally every song now, with a try unlimited button plastered at the top. Now, non-zero chance Amazon walks it back and claims it was a bug, but I believe this was intentional.

My app says it’s shuffling my playlist with similar songs and that I need unlimited to play the list on demand. But it’s letting me move forward and back and play any song on my playlist on demand.

I’ll say it again. Apple Music rules them all. I can throw a playlist together in no time.
Biggest inventory and options and the AI algorithms pull completely obscure stuff that you probably like.
Last week NWA was followed by Dead Kennedys.
I spend a lot more time listening to music than watching the tube, but I still have Prime because I primarily shop through Amazon.

Nope, the shuffle is for all the music from what I see.
Yeah. This is horseshite. I had my workout list that would start lite, crescendo, and lower intensity towards the end.
frickers!

Man I saw this thread title and was excited thinking they had expanded the “Unlimited” library to all Prime members.
Discovering that they had actually completely wrecked the Amazon Music app ruined that excitement. You can’t even play individual songs, just “similar” songs to the ones you select. It’s like Pandora. You only get random shuffles.

My 6 year old lost his mind fighting with Alexa trying to get her to play songs from Hamilton today. Every other song was a song “similar to”. The new system seems unusable.
Just for funsies, what are his favorite songs from Hamilton?

It has to be a bug.
No way they would force everyone to just shuffle all music. Would be an all time bad decision for a music steaming service.
This has to be a glitch associated with the new launch.
If it’s not a glitch then this decision was made by clowns.

A “shuffle only” option for all prime members using their music service makes absolutely zero sense.

Similar thing here. We tell Alexa to play Debusey for one hour in the girls room to put them to sleep and every night for the last 6 months it has been the same playlist of Debusey songs. Tonight all of a sudden it was a bunch of different piano music I have never heard before.
Not a fan, at all. This is bullshite.

I’d chalk it up to them going through some issues with this transition. I’m sure they will sort it out with an app update.

Its a conscious decision. They intend it to be this way

The app also offers standard features like the ability to shuffle-play any artist, album or playlist, stream personalized playlists, download songs for offline listening and more. While Prime members won’t be able to stream music on-demand without upgrading to the paid tier, the larger catalog may make sense for more casual music listeners who prefer a more lean-back experience.

Oh well frick that. I’d rather have a limited catalog and not be forced to shuffle play everything.
