How so? You have 10 minutes to google the shite out of it and find a bunch of questionable "scientific articles" to base your argument off of. Go!

I know right!! I dont get some people's insistence on defending fossil fuels and rejecting any attempt at helping the environment. I mean what vested interest do some of you have in fossil fuel production? If an affordable, electric vehicle comes out that looks like a regular car, has the same mileage range and, as a plus, is better for the environment than why wouldn't you promote this

No by leading scientists throughout the world.

It means you wouldn't fire them because you can't. Jeff Bezos >>>>>>>>> Martini.

I'm not trying to sound racist by asking this question, but have you ever seen a white person driving those vans?
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just something that jumped out at me.

I hear the Austin division of Amazon has complained about the AC on these vans.

I don't have to google anything.
The mining of those rare minerals is bad for the environment.
The refining of those minerals in questionable places pollutes an ungodly amount.
Shipping those refined metals.
Manufacturing those refined metals into batteries.
Energy production from fossil fuels to keep them going.
Step #2 is the one that ruins their current viability as a Green vehicle. The rest of the characteristics they share with ICE powered vehicles.

Yep, my amazon driver (no pics) is a good looking girl. Maybe OT 6.9

I'm just saying that the manufacturing elements, particularly of lithium, are more intensive than a regular combustion engine.
Lithium keeps being brought up but the cost and energy requirements to produce lithium carbonate have dropped significantly in the last few years. Shifting more to brine-based recovery from hard rock recovery has precipitated (pun intended) a lot of this.
The lithium argument is basically outdated at this point.

Hm I wonder how much carbon those lithium mines for batteries make? I guess he isn't taking that into account.
quote:This chicken-egg argument holds no water, blows my mind that people continue saying this.
What about charging the vans? Isn't most of the energy in the US still from fossil fuels?
quote:It mostly is, just like nearly every public announcement.
Sounds like a bullshite PR move to me.

The only thing anyone can do to "fight" climate change, is alter the orbit of the earth. And frighteningly there's been a proposed plan for that.

TIL. Did not know that several advancements had been made.

This is just patently false.
