A Tale of Unwanted Disruption: My Week Without Amazon
This is more reason to not use the cloud services and especially putting all of you eggs in one basket.

Unpacking the Cause
The sequence of events that led to this digital exile began innocuously enough. A package was delivered to my house on Wednesday, May 24, and everything seemed fine. The following day, however, I found that my Echo Show had signed out, and I was unable to interact with my smart home devices.

When I connected with the executive, they asked if I knew why my account had been locked. When I answered I was unsure, their tone turned somewhat accusatory. I was told that the driver who had delivered my package reported receiving racist remarks from my “Ring doorbell” (it’s actually a Eufy, but I’ll let it slide).
This is more reason to not use the cloud services and especially putting all of you eggs in one basket.

I've been preaching this for years long before the cancel aspect emerged. Giving any company an in to confiscate your data, access or ability to function is always a bad idea.

Patriot Act + AI and everything being tied to Apple/Amazon/Google… we are fricked.

The government is in the final stages of tracking everything you do and the ability to shut you down if they don't like what you say/think/believe.

I have thought for years that there will be a point where “hate speech” will be something that will get you shut down in numerous areas in your life
Basically just another version of a citizen credit score. Once you are “convicted” of anything, you basically can’t do shite in society.
Which will be more for white folks than anything cause it would be deemed racist for black folks

I would be surprised if this would fall under their terms and conditions.

No joke, I hope you don't have any Apple products

About 15 years ago, I 1000000% believed that Google was the most trusted company on the planet. I truly thought that back then. In fact, I actually think they were. I actually felt very safe using all of their products.
Damn I was gullible back then

Why people do this is beyond me. Guess everyone is falling in love with cutting edge technology but forget about the consequences

This is the very reason when I bought cameras for my house I specifically chose a package with its own NVR and no cloud storage.

I use racial remarks all the time in my house.

Yeah some bozo just came by yesterday wanting to give me the ring doorbell camera for free. I kept telling him I didn't want it or wasn't interested. Guess he couldn't believe that I didn't want his free junk. Finally he got the picture and left. Also the main problem with this was I was literally jacking my vehicle up as he comes doodling in. Like come'on I ain't got time for this bullshite.

I reviewed the footage and confirmed that no such comments had been made. Instead, the Eufy doorbell had issued an automated response: “Excuse me, can I help you?” The driver, who was walking away and wearing headphones, must have misinterpreted the message.
Right. I mean, who hasn't misheard someone, assumed it was racist, and had their house shut down? Totally normal.

Wait for digital currency and social credit scores.
Back to serfdom once again.

So did somebody from your home use racial remarks towards the driver?

Funny enough after reading the article the driver and author (who this happened to) are both AA. The author also mentioned the driver was wearing headphones when this occurred.

another example of how one person’s stupid opinion can shut down your personal life

One day you'll be laughing at Blazing Saddles and then your Alexa will lock you out of your bank account.
That's called progress.

Was he, perhaps, listening to rap lyrics?
