I wonder if Amazon delivery times will get as fast as Domino’s.

Get your Amazon crap delivered in 30 minutes or it’s free.

They could use a mix of drivers and the drone service to shipt your package.

I think it depends on your proximity to a distribution center honestly. Cause I see more and more people claiming that prime says 2 day delivery but it takes 4 or 5 days. Meanwhile in Vegas my delivery time constantly gets accelerated and never is late (knock on wood lol)

How much extra did they charge for 1 hour delivery, it's usually at minimum $5-7 here at least from what I've seen

Same thing with Home Depot I'm only 3 miles away but now you can order anything that's in stock at the stores...no minimum order required and they're using restaurant / grocery delivery drivers to pick up the item and deliver it to you ASAP Most of my orders have been M12 / M18 cordless tools but the most recent was a 12 dollar pack of blue scratch free scour pads. I felt guilty. I don't know how they could possibly make a profit after paying the delivery cost

Same thing with Ducks Sporting Goods. Ordered a pair of golf shoes and they were delivered by door dash that afternoon.

ETA Dicks Sporting Goods too

Wish they’d check the packages a bit closer before shipping em. I ordered some beef jerky that was filled with mold when I opened package.

With eBay/usps it's a surprise for me. Could be two days or two weeks.

For all the shite I give Jeff and Mackenzie, they made fundamental changes(not always good) to every Americans life. Gotta respect that.

I avoid Amazon but do order occasionally when I need something that's now hard to find since so many regular shops are out of business. Like some electronic connector you used to get at Radio Shack.

Those things are never the ones that arrive quickly.

They are lightning fast for all the stuff that's also at a shop a few blocks away.

Lake Charles area prime is 3-5 days. It’s a geographical black hole apparently.

Houma is not as bad. Some boutique items may take an extra day or two, but having the Baton Rouge distribution center and Prime Delivery make it better. But still Walmart can have Amazon beat on most household items. Those deliveries come from your local store and their Spark Delivery drivers.

To compete with Walmart’s widespread network of stores, Amazon would really need to expand its number of locations.

One aspect where Amazon could really boost itself would be if it went the Sears route. Sears like Amazon was a mail order only. The next logical step would be retail outlets that act like smaller distribution centers and manage local deliveries. I can’t imagine the carbon footprint Amazon has with its delivery drivers coming from either Slidell or Harahan to deliver in Cocodrie.

I’ve had the opposite results lately. I order something that they offer free early morning next day delivery only for it to be delivered two days later. This has happened twice. I’ve started ordering stuff from Walmart+ because of it.

Forward to this morning when I’m supposed to have a pallet of mulch delivered from Home Depot. When we get home we’ve got a full sized door leaning against my stucco and no mulch. WTF?

Seriously?
This is outstanding news
If this trend continues I may never need to go to EBR again
and I just went to Dicks three weeks ago for some Okuma spinning reels

True. I have become spoiled to ordering something at 10 pm and it’s on the doorstep when I wake the next morning.

I am, however, waiting for the 3 am delivery person to be shot by one of my overzealous neighbors.

Amazon groceries is pretty great. They keep stuff cool by freezing bottles of water, so you get bottled water on top of whatever you order. And it's crazy fast.

Three door mats. Let me guess, you live under a shoes-off-inside-the-house regime?
