I think studying the Great Pyramid would be pretty surreal knowing that the walls you are touching and the structure you are standing in was built thousands of years ago.

From what i gathered many egyptologists believe it may store the iron throne (No shite).
Tales of an Iron Throne exist and have never been found. Supposedly one of the Pharaohs had to sit on the throne to pass into the stars or something like that. Been a few weeks since i read about it .

"There is a possible interpretation, which is in good agreement with what we know about the Egyptian funerary religion as witnessed in the Pyramids Texts," Magli explained in a release. "In these texts it is said that the pharaoh, before reaching the stars of the north, will have to pass the "gates of the sky" and sit on his "throne of iron."
Real life 'Iron Throne' may be hidden in Egypt

Hopefully they find it, throw it in a hot fire and put a thin coat of oil on it. That should keep it rust free for another couple thousand years, and you can fry up some sausage on it, you.

My bet is that that those voids represent the days when the pharoahs henchmen weren't looking and the workers filled the holes full of sand instead of dragging massive chunks of rock up the thing

I was lucky enough to climb into the King's Chamber back in 2011. It's a pain in the arse to get into and it was over 120 degrees in there when I went, but I did my best to soak in every second of it.
There's a "security guard" in there who is meant to keep tourists from doing shite like laying in the sarcophagus, but I just slipped him a couple Euros and he let us do whatever we wanted. It was crazy knowing I was laying where a Pharaoh once laid.
Also, there are "security guards" who try to keep people from climbing up the outside of the Pyramid, but all you have to do is slip them a couple Euros and you can go about halfway up. By that point, it keeps steep and scary.
