Am I the only one who notices how often people text and drive?

Everyone knows the dangers and still does it. Also always someone going 55 in the fastt lane and glance at them when I am passing and they aren't even looking up. What can be done about this? Tickets clearly arnt a large enough penalty.

I don't text and drive, but i do sometimes respond to emails, or pull up the local radar

At a red light isn't the end of the world to me, but in downtown traffic is what really bothers me.

My truck has a feature where it reads text messages to you. This allows me to know if the text is important(I call if it is) and if it's not important I just wait. The other day a kid flipped his car into the ditch that lives in my neighborhood and his parents posted about it on Facebook today. Just made me think how lucky he was that he walked away uninjured.

No, saw a East Baton Rouge Parish bus driver doing it last fall and stared her down. She acted like I was in the KKK for calling her out.

I see 4 or 5 people a day distracted to the point that they're swerving into other lanes. It's to the point where I assume someone is texting before I think drunk driving.

They're probably not texting.

They're probably playing Pokemon GO

On the road to Houston from B.R. last week got stuck in the left lane behind a car with the front bumper being held on by a rope. Finally had to go around her in the right lane and look over and her head is buried in her phone.

shite is scary.

I believe the state just raised the price to like $1000 for second offense. The problem with that is that no one has ever gotten a texting and driving ticket (not associated with a DWI stop). It just doesn't happen.

Riding in the left lane is also illegal, and no one has ever gotten a ticket for that unless it's for a DWI stop

I got passed on I-49 one time by a guy holding his phone in one hand, digging in his briefcase with the other hand, and steering with his knees.

I always see it and surprisingly it always seems to be people over 40.

Any douchebag going slow on the interstate is either a blue hair or on the phone.

Just got back from a 4 hour road trip. And on the way there and back, I lost count of how many people I saw texting and driving. Majority were college age kids obviously. But I do see older people doing it as well. Just scary to think that there are that many people on the road that don't have a clue what's going on around them.

I drive 30K+ miles a year, and I can spot a texter from a mile away. Speed varies, car swerves and head is tilted down.

If I could write tickets for it and get a percentage of each fine, I could retire soon.

I learned the hard way about the dangers of texting and driving.

Last time I did it, I had to get on my brakes real hard and wound up spilling my last beer all over my lap and floorboard.

No more T & D for me.

I like to run people I see texting and driving off the road.
