It's fun to sit at a red light and if the person next to me is buried in their phone... You take off fast then brake... Lots of time you can get then to jump and/or drive straight through the light...
Had to stop when a chick almost got tboned. I felt shitty about tat one tbh

On the road to Houston from B.R. last week got stuck in the left lane behind a car with the front bumper being held on by a rope. Finally had to go around her in the right lane and look over and her head is buried in her phone
I'd say it's a 90% chance that a car acting weird (going slow in fast lane, tapping breaks, erratic speed changes) is a woman on a cell phone in some form. Seen it 100+ times.

You are correct. Unacceptable driving because of telephones is not just limited to those who are texting. It once was the case that anytime you found a car traveling 8 or more miles per hour BELOW the speed limit, it was being driven by a very elderly person. Now, you can almost bet that it will be someone of any age (except the very elderly) who are engrossed in a telephone conversation.
This is the kind of individual who, inexplicably, begins slowing down at an intersection where there's a green light. Then, as the light turns yellow, the driver kicks up the speed so that his car gets through and yours has to stop. He/she also forgets to activate turn signals until it's clear to everyone, anyway, that he is stopping in the middle of the road because he wants to turn.
As many of the other posters have observed, it is incredible how many people have their phones up to their heads while driving. When stopped at an intersection, just start noting how many drivers crossing the intersection are on the phone.
To think that there was actually a time when people could exist without having a phone attached to them 24 hours a day!
That's my rant, anyway.

I have noticed this as well...it is shockingly common on our highways. suprising thing is, it is not even illegal in some states.
my company has taken a very strong stance against this...if you are caught texting while driving a company vehicle, you are terminated...no exceptions.

In LA, first time offense is $500 and second offense is $1000. Cops DGAF though as seen by the zero texting and driving tickets given so far this year. It's extremely dangerous and a cash cow, yet they haven't enforced it one time outside of a DWI stop

It will become important to law makers when it becomes the politically correct thing to do like when MADD pushed for tougher DWI laws...
No matter what question a politician is asked, the answer is always "We need more taxes." LA gets less services per capita, with more government employees per capita, than any other state. Yet this huge cash cow is pushed aside, riding the pine until it becomes cool t enforce the law.
Who gets to decide what laws are important enough to enforce and which ones they will ignore?

This is in Germany
Seriously, when I moved here, it was one of the first things I noticed. Everyone is a better driver. It's awesome.
If you've never been there you don't realize how well a freeway CAN work when everyone using it plays by the rules.
It's wünderbar.

I notice a lot of them around here. One of the reasons I don't feel comfortable putting our teenager on the road just yet.
