There are those who suffer from medical conditions through no fault of their own. There are those who are suffering financially right now through no fault of their own.

Then there are those who are suffering because of their own life decisions.

You are right to choose who gets your pity, and the truth is some people deserve, and many don't.

No.

If every penny in this country was divided equally amongst every citizen who resides here, I would give it no more than 5 years before the rich would be rich again and the poor poor again.

You can’t legislate equal outcomes. It’s never worked and it never will.

Sane people don't want financial equality, they want the gap diminished between the rich and the poor.

Your hyperbolic metaphor is irrelevant.

And are you implying that all rich people are intelligent? I worked at a country club for 4 years and I promise you that that's not the case.

Life isn't equal.

It isn't even fair.

Socialist/communist can't make it that way either.

Why do you care about a gap between you and someone else? I don’t care what my boss makes. He earns every penny. I care about what I make. I care about MY situation.

No, it’s very relevant.

No. I’m saying the vast majority of rich people make better decisions than poor people. That’s not even debatable.

Congratulations on noticing that our economic system is designed to make sure that the normal processes of life result in wealth being concentrated in the hands of a small number of people.

And the process of genetic inheritance gave Michael Jordan a leg up on me in being a rich NBA superstar. Who do I call and complain?

wealth is created. Success at the Top doesn't result in diminished opportinity at all he bottom. It's not a zero sum game.

I do try to help through community service and what not but no one person can solve all of the issues of others.

Maybe you are a realist. Until just a few hundred years ago, and for millions of years prior, one had a 1 in 10 chance of living past the age of ten. The strongest specimens survived as a check to strengthen the species and insure its survival.

Today we impede what Darwin called nature's ability to adapt for the best of species by natural selection... by intervening to tolerate, encourage, support, and finance the survival of those nature once weeded out... and we also see the results of it.
