I doubt they were asking him to stand there with his hands raised to his sides. They probably asked him to get down to his knees.
If you don't do what an officer ask you to do after several request, especially in an incident where officers are on the scene after an armed confrontation, then the officers are in their right to make the individual compliant.
That's not even a debate.

But you're acting like they effectively controlled the situation when anything but that actually happened.
I've not once acted like that. Subduing a suspect with drawing weapons should always be the priority. Pulling firearms should be a last resort.

FFS the alternative decision was that they tackle the man and take it to the ground with an armed perp who is significantly larger than them. Just because they went that route doesn't mean you have to jump through hoops to justify it. It is entirely possible they fricked up with that cho
Just because you're naive enough to believe when cops pull their guns everyone listens and cooler heads prevail doesn't make it true.
The exact opposite is what happens most of the time. When a gun is pulled, by anyone, the situation becomes more hectic because people panic.
You're labor in under the delusion that drawn guns cause calm, which is asinine.

The COPS were wrong in shooting him.... I agree... There was another way out.... But that doesn't give people the right to tear shite up....

I don't understand what the argument is anymore. A 3 page criminal, carrying a weapon (which I dont think felons can do), was given every opportunity to comply. Knowing himself armed, and black, he chose not to. Cops still gave him a verbal (clear as day warning) once they keyed on his firearm. He still didn't comply. The shot him.
The world moves on.
The world moves on.

These officers risked their lives to take down an armed, resisting suspect

It's pretty interesting to watch play out.
Just completely make up what you think the other person is saying despite him saying nothing nowhere near that. Again, can't lose a debate that way, undefeated!!!

You're the one who said there was "no debate" as to which was safer.

The cop saw an opportunity to end the confrontation without the threat of lethal force and tried to take it. It worked at first, since he caught the guy off guard and got him to the ground. From there, they were unable to restrain his right arm, which was under the car. If that car isn't there, we might not even be discussing this.
The cop clearly thought he could restrain the perp without involving lethal force. Sadly that didn't end up being the case.
I tend to think that, even given what happened, this was the best approach to use in this particular situation.
