I'd only heard about the carnal knowledge. What else was there over the "20 years" that was mentioned?

You clearly have never been around someone acting a fool with a firearm. Its a deadly situation, Sterling escalated it on his own accord. You play stupid games with a firearm and you get hurt or die. That is life.
Link to facts that prove this?
You may have your assumptions as to what happened, but none of that is evident in the video we have all seen. You don't see a violent man or a man fighting with the cops. You don't see a gun. You don't see him reaching for a gun.
You see him get tackled and pinned to the ground on his side first and then rolled to his stomach. You see an officer kneeling on his left arm and an officer around his waist. You see him lifting his head and shoulders off of the ground. You hear the officers say he has a gun and tell him not to move with a gun in his face. You then hear 3 shots.
That is it. Everything else is people filling in the holes as they see fit.

This. Why on earth would the cops shoot the guy if he wasn't going for his gun?
Who knows, but it happens
It's not to say it happened here, but the point is we don't really know.

They didn't know he had a gun before the struggle on the ground, though.
Ummm

So it's factual that he had a gun on him while being confronted by police?

You just provided them.

That's all you need to show Sterling was actively resisting while in possession of a firearm.

based off the actions that we 100% know, which is he resisted arrest while in possession of a firearm, you believe that is punishable by death?
That is my point as well.
Believing this was a justifiable shooting =/= Sterling deserved to die
I can live with and mostly support the former. The latter is pretty despicable.

And people are lining up on one side or the other. This won't end well for anyone.

I'm not saying this guy didn't deserve it, because I don't know all of the details. However, I will say that there are too many cops nowadays that abuse their position of authority. They take shite too far and think they can say and do whatever they want because they're an officer. I've experienced that shite firsthand myself.

Yes. Even the Pro-Alton eye witnesses admit that.

Nah, he had donations for the poor and canned goods.

the original 911 call was about a guy threatening someone with a gun
They didn't KNOW he had a gun. They suspected it and then saw it after they went to the ground.
I think the tackle was a deliberate attempt to prevent a shooting, once he failed to comply and didn't respond to the taser.

I have yet to read that anywhere but here.

I agree that the system has a disparaging effect on those without the means for quality legal representation, but even if you're going to get railroaded in court, when has not complying or resisting arrest EVER worked out? There's 1 of 2 possible outcomes here: 1. You die, 2. You catch more charges.
Definitely. I'm not suggesting someone should resist whatsoever, but I understand their motivation to an extent.

This.
Cops will get no credit for that however.

It's in the initial news story/police report.

OK so what is this guy's criminal record, other than the carnal knowledge charge?

Instead, they get people like Salmon questioning it.
