If they're against the police, why do they need/want an escort?

Pretty sure it's required

Had BRPD Lt. on 107.3 this morning. Sheriff's office and LSP will handle it "out of respect"

A football season ticket holder I believe. Not sure who will get his tickets now.

this, is someone paying for it (besides you and me)? I find it crazy that a public university will open their doors for a funeral for a convicted felon. Thanks JBJ for keeping the doors open to a university with less than a 5% graduation rate.

Just keep your eyes open Friday, it was after Freddie Gray's funeral that the rioting started. Not saying it will happen here but it being on Friday may draw more people out.

It's JBE. And Southern BR has a better than 5% graduation rate. You're thinking of SUNO which should have been closed a long time ago.

SUNO graduation rate statistic is skewed due to Katrina. I believe it's higher than that 5% everyone on here throws around. (Does it matter though? No lol)

Katrina was 11 years ago. How badly did it affect Tulane, Loyola, UNO?

Funeral services for Alton Sterling will be held Friday at Southern University’s F. G. Clark Activity Center, Southern University announced.

A viewing will be from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Funeral Director Trencia Henderson, of Carney and Mackey Funeral Home of Baton Rouge, said all services are open to the public.

Southern University was chosen because of its large size and ability to accommodate a significant turn out, Henderson said

Look at the staff and leadership at the school. He would have fit in well.

2012 SUNO graduation rate was 4%
2014 SUNO graduation rate was 6%

Absolute lowest graduation rate in the country.
