Do you agree?

Although we hear about crime a lot more, there is a lot less crime compared to the 60s, 70s, 80s and most of the 90s...

We have the ability to do things in our everyday life we never thought we would be able to do. We can learn about things much easier today. Before the internet was in every home, if you wanted to learn more about something without having to make a trip to library you had to look it up in an encyclopedia.

I am not saying we don't have our problems, there has always been problems and there will likely always be problems.. That's just life, but are things REALLY as bad as we perceive them right now?

When I get worked up about something political, I have to remind myself that in the grand scheme things it really doesn't matter. We only have so much time on earth, why spend time getting all caught up in that shite?

Friend,

It’s a great day to be alive, as a country music person once sang. It was true yesterday and especially today. What a beautiful gift from God this life is!

I think the US is in decline, although through human ingenuity, we have a higher standard of living than past generations, for now. We are heading towards chaos and Idiocracy.

Friend,

I feel like we need more positivity. If you let the negative get into your head, it has a negative impact on you. We need to look past our differences and find out what we all have in common. It is much safer if everyone isn't living on the edge.

Most people weren’t as overweight as they are now and didn’t waste their time and energy on meaningless things like now with Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. People exercised, have meaningful in person relationships, and went as superficial. There was no cyber bullying or online harassment.

People’s lives can get ruined in an instant now through videos, pictures, texts posted online for the world to see.

I think this is a plus and a negative. Sure, we want to improve how we do things, how we live, etc.. But have we become too materialistic?

People try to keep up with others in terms of having things those other people have, etc. And getting new shite all the time is temporary. If you can afford it, great.. If you can't then don't try to live like those who can.. We just need to change how we look at life.

There is definitely a downside to the internet/social media. And the thing about only bullying, especially for kids/teenagers is that it doesn't just end at the end of the school day.

Once the school day is over it continues on social media and then its out there for more people to see and that is horrible for kids at that age.

I do think that social media is something that is a trend. It started with myspace and then facebook came along and no one used myspace anymore.

Facebook isn't as popular with generation Z (that's what? People born between 1995 or 96 and 2015 or something), they are using Instagram (which is owned by FB) and tiktok.

I don't know about twitter, but I think people will eventually stop using it as much.. But we are still in the wild wild west days of social media, but I hope it eventually gets balanced out.

Friend,

Kindness and civility are the order of the day. As for capitalizing, didn’t you ever post on the ESPN Top 25 forum?

Tell me, then, why are there so many fricking idiots running around all willy nilly like?

Used to we had a bit of shame and tried to hide our idiots. Now, it is like the Idiot Olympics on full display everywhere you go.

That's where social media comes into play. There have always been idiots.. Now people have an outlet to display to the world how much of an idiot they actually are.
