Well now, Captain, you didn't explain your purpose.
Still, that has nothing to do with being scared. Those are idiots. Idiots do not know the meaning of being scared, because they don't have the brain cells to understand simple human concepts such as fear. If they were smarter, they may understand how stupid that is....and Illegal.

I drove an 18 wheeler over the 210 and I10 in Lake Charles wasn't to bad. The worst was driving a bobtail over the Old Huey P. I slapped mirrors with a dually that was passing me up.

The Port Arthur bridge has nothing on that. Scared me Sh*tless when I was a kid when visiting my aunt

Brother drove a u-haul across it and said he was curbing the tires the whole way across

Go to the rainbow bridge in Port Arthur then get back to me
Yep... frick that!!
I hike up mountains and sit on cliffs with no problem at all...
Maybe it's the lack of control, having to depend on other drivers, that makes me nervous.
But seriously, why go so steep up and so steep down with ten feet of flat in the middle?? It looks more like giant X-Games ramp than a bridge... put some arch into it, damn.

You do realize ships travel under bridges, right?
A "ship" in the Calcasieu River?

Boats navigating the Calcasieu don't need clearance that f*cking high. And if they do, they need to navigate the f*ck somewhere else. Why should the majority suffer for the minority?

Who the frick dies because a bridge is "unnecessarily high"
Wet weather conditions mixed with the height and narrowness of the I-10 Calcasieu Bridge has lead to deaths that wouldn't have occurred in the same conditions on the Sabine River and Trinity River Bridges because they weren't as high, weren't as narrow. These rivers have the same boats in terms of navigation and traffic.
I may have a phobia that you don't have, but you have to admit the I-10 Calcasieu Bridge doesn't need to be this high, or that narrow. It is a major risk to drivers, and should be expanded to three lanes and lowered.

You do realize that bridge was not built as an interstate bridge, right?
Quit bitching. Go complain to the Feds, who were supposed to replace the bridge when they made it an interstate bridge, knowing it was no sufficient for that kind of traffic.

And i've never seen that rainbow bridge before, one word....nope
And it used to be 2 way with no divider in the middle. We used to go over it in a school bus when we were at track meets in Bridge City. We used to have to be at 60mph to make sure we made it to the top. Sometimes traffic was bad and we would only get up to 35 or so.....we were going 5mph by the time we made it to the top.

I don't like heights but I have crossed the Huey a couple of years ago with ice hitting the car from above and back in the day crossed the Mississippi at Vicksburg on a sheet of ice.
I really like the new bridge up toward Zachary and Saint Francisville

ou are dead arse right about the I-10 bridge though. That is a death trap. But your still a bitch for complaining about it.
Even people that live here are pansies.
I literally drive over that bridge every day to bring my daughter to school. It doesn't sway, takes 2 minutes to get over. Spare me the dramatic narrative, all of you.

I drive over the I-10 bridge without a second thought. If the exact time I'm on it is the time it gives out, then it's just my time.

I don't like those bridges either, they give me panic attacks.

That's it right there.
Maybe all these people that don't like bridges shouldn't live in coastal environments. I hear Kansas is a fantastic place to get away from bridges.
Bridge City is a definite no-go.

I've always wanted to take one of the crossed revolver decorative pieces on the rails of the I10 bridge. Anyone want to climb up there and steal one for me?
Posted on 9/12/16 at 9:47 pm to stout
Bridge in port Arthur is intense!

I've always thought that if they ever do tear that bridge down that it would be cool to have one of those.
I bet there are a lot of people that would want them. Bet they would sell them like stadium seats before a park gets bulldozed.

Old Huey P says hello. Driving an 8.5ft wide trailer over that bitch was always fun. If you've ever been stopped on that bridge, it moves A LOT.

Hey, it's been a long while since I've crossed those bridges; could you help me out?
Am I looking at the Jean Laffite and the Prien Lake bridges?
TIA
