Already Tired of the Katrina 10 Anniversary Coverage

It's already being discussed at nausea in the media outlets. Hopefully this is the last Katrina milestone where we all need to hear this crap.

It's "ad nauseam," not at nausea....
Unless it's really making you sick....

I hear you. I can't wait until August 30. But we can expect to deal with annual smaller "remembrances" for the foreseeable future.
Wait, this it the OT. I'm kind of scared.

I did puke on the way to the office this morning.

I lost everything in that storm, and I'm conflicted. This has been a hard week. I think it's probably a good mental health and emotional step to have this moment of reflection.
That having been said, I hope this is the last one. Too many great things going on with the Gulf Coast to continually look backwards.

Well said.
And while I agree with the OP's sentiment, a certain amount of reflection is to be expected.

Me too dude. I don't feel like reliving that shite.

For many people this is ripping open old wounds that had only recently healed. It's a very hard time for those who want to move on and forget what happened to them.

I agree. You will never see a Rita 10 year recovery which effected far more people than katrina.

Agree 100 percent, which is why the first part of my post said "I'm conflicted". Some people will benefit from a final grieving and celebration of rebirth. Other people, this will just bring back painful memories that have taken forever to bury.
I have this hope that the media will focus more on the recovery and today, and less on the tragedy, but I'm not confident in that.
If we didn't have kids and school and work responsibilities this week, I would have probably gone on a cruise just to avoid all the coverage.
