I'm just happy I spend literally no time with people who think similarly to the people this piece criticizes. Who are these people? Am I that sheltered?

You should be. I know one person exactly like this. She's interesting to say the least

This is the heart of the problem right here, in the headline.

Don't wait for someone to "allow" you to be a man. Be a man.

Do whatever the frick you want to do, when you want to do it. Ignore the voices crying about the "patriarchy." Go do man shite. They can deal with it. You don't need to deal with them.

You're reading my meaning wrong. Do what you want to do.

If you want to act like a man, act like a man. If you want to act like something else, act like something else.

What I'm saying is you don't need anyone's approval or permission to do so.

I still think this "problem" mostly just exist in the minds of the collective internet and isn't that big of a problem IRL

Agreed. For all the red pill shite I read on here I have not met a single girl who actively seeks out less masculine men. She may bitch about it on facebook, but when it's 2:30am and the bar is closed, she ain't texting skinny jeans.

One of my good friends is the ultimate sjw feminist.

Born in Chile, moved to SF, went to Cal for undergrad. Has lived on communes. She's gender fluid or nonbinary. She doesn't shave, which is a shame because she's really one of the most beautiful girls I've ever met. It's interesting to say the least, but she and I will always be good friends.

Is this behavior behind the MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way) movement? A lot of guys seem to be avoiding marriage due to what their fathers and uncles went through.

quote:

Men Going Their Own Way is a statement of self-ownership, where the modern man preserves and protects his own sovereignty above all else. It is the manifestation of one word: “No”. Ejecting silly preconceptions and cultural definitions of what a “man” is. Looking to no one else for social cues. Refusing to bow, serve and kneel for the opportunity to be treated like a disposable utility. And, living according to his own best interests in a world which would rather he didn’t.

With the neutering of married men, their portrayal in media, losing half of their shite and kids in a divorce, they see this and it's becoming a trend. Sucks for our future big time.

A group of scientists in North Carolina measured the grip strength and pinch strength of 237 healthy full-time students. The average 20-to-34-year-old male was able to apply 98 pounds of force when gripping something with his right hand – but in 1985, the average man could squeeze with 117 pounds of force.

Is that the best sample group from which to deduce average raw strength? It effectively excludes all manual laborers. Was the 1985 average derived from a similar demographic?

Every new commercial on TV or ad in a magazine never fails to show men as weak and effeminate with a strong gay vibe (even if they are straight).

I want to start a new "No means no" movement where people just respond to requests for apologies and such by laughing and saying "no". No in depth rebuttal. No debate on CNN. Just nope.

What is the obsession with skinny jeans?

And I may be going out on a limb here, but if you're in the population that is regularly present in a bar at 2:30 a.m., you're probably not in a group that exerts much societal influence such that feminization of men (real or imagined) would be viewed as problematic.

What's funny is that women who are with or claim to want a man like this are usually the most unhappy people in the world. Who are the happiest women? Those who have a strong man filling the role that nature intended in their lives.

So, I read the link and it does acknowledge the possibility of sampling bias and concludes (correctly, IMO) that changing work habits are the primary cause. But this...

quote:

The average 20-to-34-year-old male was able to apply 98 pounds of force when gripping something with his right hand...

Millennial women between 20 to 34 actually squeezed much harder than their forebears did, able to generate 98 pounds of force...

There is no way in heck the average 20-34 year old male has the same grip strength as the average 20-34 year old female.

What fricking crackpot "study" is this? Even the emo kids wearing skinny jeans from the early 2000s are stronger than 75% of the women on the planet. This is an absurd statement.
