The study didn't say that. Author just can't read.

Exactly. That's a dumb study.

you're probably not in a group that exerts much societal influence such that feminization of men (real or imagined) would be viewed as problematic.

I could just as easily argue that the majority of society is the type of person that is regularly present in bars (or any other social setting) and that this (real or imagined) feminization of men is perceived to be more prevalent than it actually is because the internet has given a vocal minority a louder voice.

A new study was released last week showing the millennial male is now physically weaker than his female counterpart
How does this even happen? I mean yeah, there are outliers, but as a whole that cannot be the case.

I still say that people born in the 80s need their own name. You absolutely cannot group someone born in 1980 with someone born in 2000

It is simply not true that the millennial make is weaker than the millennial female. A few years of social justice doesn't change genetics that quickly. Yeah they're probably not lifting weights, but males. are naturally stronger than females.

More importantly, it makes no mention of female grip strength.

Graduated high school in mid-2000s. It was sick how many boys had no father figure. Maybe if some of our fathers weren't out chasing pussy on the side, they could have taken some time to raise their sons. My only goal is to raise my kids and be there for them and show them how a real man treats his wife and kids. I think that makes me man enough.

The research, published in the Journal of Hand Therapy, found that the hands and arms of men aged from 20 to 34 were less strong than those of men measured 30 years ago. The data is of interest because researchers have found grip strength to be a strong predictor of overall muscular strength and health. A group of scientists in North Carolina measured the grip strength and pinch strength of 237 healthy full-time students. The average 20-to-34-year-old male was able to apply 98 pounds of force when gripping something with his right hand – but in 1985, the average man could squeeze with 117 pounds of force.

Has more to do with technology and standard of loving being easier these days. Most grow up in school and college and don't enter the work force until their mid 20s.

Kids spend more time on computers than outside playing.
Teenagers don't do much manual labor.
Many more jobs are white collar rather than blue collar.

It was the opposite 30 years ago. Like anything, there are good and bad results of societal changes. Doesn't mean they weren't raised to be men though.

I'm 25 and grew up on a catfish farm and have worked since I was 10 years old (when not in school) and played football from 4th grade through first 2 years of college. I guarantee my hand grip is above the average for 30 years ago. I have to be careful not to hurt some people on accident when I meet them

I want to start a new "No means no" movement where people just respond to requests for apologies and such by laughing and saying "no". No in depth rebuttal. No debate on CNN. Just nope
I do this all of the time. People expect an explanation and will wait for me to say something (which doesn't happen). Kids are taken back the most, and usually just walk away wondering wtf just happened

Eta: I remember when participation ribbons and trophies came out. When I got one because I sucked at a sport, I immediately threw it in the trash. My parents never made excuses or praised me for a shitty performance. There is no reason someone should be proud to be a loser. I wasn't even happy with second place.

OK. Majority doesn't necessarily mean directly proportional to societal influence, but whatever floats your boat.

Except that feminization of men is being effected via legal and cultural means that extend beyond the internet.

It doesn't. Is Sabi the only one who actually clinked through the links to read the actual article?

I think it is more of a geographical thing. Go shake a baws hand from Lee Rd, and then go shake a transplant's hand in New Orleans who came from Baltimore. It's laughable

They say a coach can tell which kids on his team don't have dads when the coach raises his voice and the kid starts crying. They haven't been exposed to that kind of response before, the volume, the deep tone. It scares them.
Happebed to me in the hospital the other day. A little ADHD kid wouldn't stop moving. I have a very deep voice. I told him to sit still. Little turd got real quiet and stopped jumping around.
