I have the local news on. They showed a clip of SWB saying that this year (August 2021 to August 2022) crime has dropped in 4 out of 5 violent crimes.
Can anyone confirm this? I have to think the numbers are pretty close to even.

I don't think it can be said enough. I've mentioned it in this thread as well, and if you'd like to hear it again, I'll be happy to let you know. We are tethered to BR because of family, which will essentially keep us here until at least my middle kid is through high school. But all of them have been informed that LSU is absolutely no option.
Also, I've donated to LSU Arts and Sciences yearly since I graduated in 2001. These donations will stop this year. I want more pressure from the university on the city to stop this bullshite in it's tracks and I haven't seen shite from them.
This is a crucial moment for the university. We'll see how they respond.

I seriously doubt they solve this murder without a crime stoppers tip...which will only come when the reward money gets too much for a thug to pass up

I explained I and a group of others (tigerdroppings) would like to start a reward donation means specifically for this case and the lady I spoke to this time was very nice and seemed to have been interested in helping. She stated that they actually are already working with another group for this very thing (maybe someone else from this thread?). Their director will be calling me back sometime today to let me know where they stand and how I can donate if it’s up and running yet. She wasn’t sure of the specifics yet but did know for a fact that they’re already working with another group to start this. We’re getting somewhere.

This is like a sale at the furniture store. Jack up the prices, and then give a discount.
Saying any crime statistic has dropped is completely meaningless without knowing where it started and how it has increased/decreased over time.
If murders go from 50 to 100 and then back to 90, yes they decreased, but it means nothing.

The press conference is probably not going to reveal anything. Let's say they are close to solving it what are going to say "we are close to solving this one, we are expecting to be moving in by the weekend"?
Whoever did it would love that to happen so they can split.
There is something about that witness that doesn't add up. The BRPD has been taking a beating as for as public perception goes, so I would think they want nothing more than to solve this case.
Someone in this thread said they have a relative in Mississippi that works for some agency and that they (I think he said the FBI) are headed to BR (but there are already FBI agents in this area right? Its hard to tell who is serious and who is full of shite on this board).
Personally, I think there will be more to this case than a simple carjacking going wrong.
