My theory was a car jacking attempt. Perhaps she wouldn't unlock the door, maybe tried to turn around, and the pissed off perp simply started firing. Based in your LE experience, is that plausible and/or likely?

Multiple NOLA attempted carjackings had exactly this happen in the last couple years but they had worse aim and the cars were less boxed in and got away.

ETA: not sure why this is being downvoted. Happened to the lady on Freret outside of High Hat. Drove away and they girl carjacking her just started shooting. Same with a guy in mid city. He popped it in reverse and turned a corner and the jackets shot at him as he did that.

Possible she turned around.

That’s what the news report said. Also explains the location of the glass.

I’ve heard the term kkk, but never seen one that I know of. Your probably right though. What would happen then? There a new kkk out hunting. So what happens next?

It's possible that she tried to turn and drive after she was shot.

What would happen if a bunch of men with daughters banded together and hunted BR gangs? What if they eliminated 50-100 bangers? What would be public opinion? What would the narrative in the paper? Could you even find a jury to convict if they were caught? Would the public even want them caught?

They'd be labeled as racist, firstly. Secondly, gangs would fight back and things would get ugly. Tertiary, martial law.

Some people out there get INTENSE road rage. If she accidentally pissed off the wrong person who knows. Still seems far fetched though.

You would be labeled domestic terrorists and the full might of the Feds would rain down upon you using all the spyware/facial recognition at their disposal while also freezing the financial accounts of everyone you care about…

And for show, governor dumbass would call in the National Guard to end this new “Christian Nationalist” movement…and it would be used as a pretext to create a “national crisis” to further erode our rights

I don’t like the attempted armed robbery theory for two reasons:

Armed robberies were vehicles are stolen are predominantly committed by juveniles. Juveniles generally take the vehicles much earlier in the night. Juveniles generally scout their victims at better locations, such as gas stations or shopping marts. Laying in wait at this geographic location to commit this crime seems like a very patient plan, which isn’t the norm.

Armed robberies were the victim resist and the suspect fires rounds generally only see a few rounds fired, mostly just to scare the victim. Based on the information released publicly, there were as many as 10 rounds fired and the majority were on target.

Neither of these are consistent with past trends, but there are always outliers.

Just my theories at this point.

The article says ”she was in fact” stopped by a train

Maybe she was stopped by the train, before she turned around, went 50 yds east, then was shot. The channel 9 video report clearly shows her glass in the bike lane next to the electric pole in the sidewalk by the west corner of the glass place.

ETA: Based on glass placement, whoever shot her was standing on the sidewalk.

I guess there are really 2 scenarios. Either she was followed by another vehicle that pulled up next to hers or someone was waiting in ambush. I'd say the 2nd is far more likely.

If she went to Jack in the Box I'm sure they have cameras to hopefully rule out #1. Or some other businesses on Government would at least. Then they'd only have to focus on the immediate area.

Most sensible observation so far. I’m with you on the “laying in wait” theory is the most likely.

To a degree yea. The January 6th FBI instigated faux “insurrection” was the dry run/model

She could have been trying to get away.
She might have tried to u-turn.

Any rate…I bet she was terrified. These scumbags need to rot.

Aubrerry was national news for “being out for a jog” Why is this not national news for “just driving home after getting dinner”?

You know the answer to that

Several sources have said investigators are truly at a loss to determine the motive behind this particular shooting.

This is clearly an example of a frustrated journalist asking stupid questions. Of course there’s no motive - the killer has not been found. Duh Kiran.

Nobody heard much about Aubury until the idiots who killed him released the video of them killing him, thinking it made them look good.

Even then it picked up more attention because the prosecutors were trying to bury it, calling it self defense.

So yeah, if the killers here release video of them killing her then the prosecutors say it was self defense you would have apples to apples.

She was facing east, 50 yds east of the train when she was shot. A U-turn would have sent her back toward the train. It appears as if she was stopped by the train, made a U-turn, went 50 yds and was shot by the electric pole at the corner of the glass shop. Her window is shattered on the ground by this pole.
