Hopefully they also get the video from the train engine. That video may offer some clues.

I guess there are really 2 scenarios. Either she was followed by another vehicle that pulled up next to hers or someone was waiting in ambush. I'd say the 2nd is far more likely.
If she went to Jack in the Box I'm sure they have cameras to hopefully rule out #1. Or some other businesses on Government would at least. Then they'd only have to focus on the immediate area.

The gang initiation suggestion is interesting, but damn you know BR has got to have initiations happening all the time and haven’t been at this level. If it is this, I’m thinking multiple shooters/multiple initiations at one event.

I worked homicides for 3 years in BR and never had a case where that was what happened. Sure, there are gang related homicides, but not initiation. However, I will say that it can’t be ruled out in this case.

My theory was a car jacking attempt. Perhaps she wouldn't unlock the door, maybe tried to turn around, and the pissed off perp simply started firing. Based in your LE experience, is that plausible and/or likely?

Channel 9's report clearly showed the glass from her passenger window in the bike lane on the south side of Govt., aboot 50 yds east of the tracks. This is going away from a train, not waiting for a train to clear.
There are abandoned houses on 15th, 16th, and Wisteria off of 17th. The video will show which direction they ran to. I originally thought they came up the tracks. Now I think they congregated in one of the abandoned houses that are a 2-5 minute walk from where they shot her.

A little white building on the west side has a ring on the front.
I don't know the area but that red stick social seems pretty nice and the other side of the tracks seems just like when people say other side of the tracks.
