But they did. They did explain why he caught the first degree rape charge.

Not so fun fact about Derrick Todd Lee's trial.

His attorneys tried to say that Murray Pace had a thing for black men and that she hid it from friends and family. That's how they tried to explain why a black man was seen walking towards her condo that day.

They're explaining why a person nobody is accusing of having sex with the victim can be charged with 1st degree rape, Chad.

Except they didn’t explain it.

The second quote he posted did not come from the linked article. The linked article makes no mention of why he was charged, only that he was “charged with rape even though there is no evidence that he had sex with Brooks.”

And, to your point..

No?

I don’t think he was trying to frame that quote as part of the original article. He was giving the explanation that was missing from the linked article.

It was pretty clear to me.

Typically, that would include a link to where the quote was from.

I truly am not sure what would be worse, to lose a daughter in this fashion or to have her utterly dragged through the mud in full public display by slimy defense lawyers. I would have to leave the country or something. I truly don't know how I would be able to handle this.

Her sexual history is definitely gonna put a lot of doubt on the jury for sure but those two that the defense wants to use would be stupid to testify at this trial and incriminating themselves even it was consensual.

so sfp was arguing what the article said without reading said article. its so funny. i was clearly giving context to his charges and the article was completely disingenuous to their statement of carver being charged despite him not having sex with brooks like he's being wronged and proof that brooks had sex a day prior helps clear carver. Again, thanks for your contribution to this thread.

OK, sure. Don’t really think that amounts to dishonesty.

Certainly no more dishonest than confidently explaining why the author included that information when he did not, in fact, include it at all.

I took Chad's 2 quotes to be from the article, and my comments were based off that.

it's about the fact that EVERYONE is afforded to defend themselves, in a court of law, from accusations of impropriety or crime, and therefore, those attorneys are just doing their job, to ensure that right is upheld...

do they make a ton of money? yep.... do they want to win cases? yep...

but they do provide a valuable service, regardless of what you say or think about them...

yes, some defendants are sleazy, perverted, deranged, sick fricks.... not gonna argue about that, at all.... but still, here in the US, even those people have the right to seek a defense counsel and defend themselves in a court of law

I have to ask where were her friends? Or any decent girl who saw that girl barely being able to walk and decided to help her. It's an indictment on our society truth be told.

Ever been to Tigerland around 1:30 am when LSU is in session?

Its like a scene from the Walking Dead with all of the drunk kids pouring out of the bars.
