56 pages, can someone give me the cliff's notes... specifically, how many people are defending these two rednecks?

only 2 or 3 which is reassuring. And then a few clowns playing devil's advocate over the legal implications. Everyone is pretty universal in their condemnation. i have to say it's pretty reassuring.

Yeah, I agree. It's a relief.

Still can't believe the guy who filmed that didn't just delete it immediately - without that video, they almost certainly get away with this shite.

I don't know if this has been posted yet, apologies if it has:

Glynn County, Georgia (CNN)The two white men arrested Thursday evening in the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery told police they believed he was a suspect in a series of break-ins. But no such string of crimes was reported in the weeks preceding the shooting, a police lieutenant told CNN.

...according to Glynn County Police Lt. Cheri Bashlor, just one automobile burglary in the neighborhood was reported when a 9 mm pistol was stolen January 1 from an unlocked truck outside the McMichaels' home.

The guy videoing it was probably doing it in case he got away or to video the questioning when confronted, he probably didn't realize he would be videoing an actual shooting. Who knows though

Caught a few early season episodes recently and was reminded how much I liked Ben Stone, too. That dude was as straight and ethical as they come.

I watched that video at 6:30 am this morning and I still can’t get it out of my mind.

Oddly, as disturbing as it was and as much as I want to forget it, I want to go back and watch it again to analyze it.

It's a tragic event, but it's actually good that so much of it, from the construction site video to the shooting video, is on tape.

It seems obvious the McMichaels lied to police, and if it wasn't for the video, no one would have figured it out. As terrible as it is to watch someone killed on video, that video is the reason people have looked harder at this instead of just brushing it away.

Agg Assault would be a lesser and included crime.

The problem with the false imprisonment is they never actually detained or arrested him. They may have an intended to but it was never accomplished.

I could see the DA offering it as a second option for the jury (not sure about GAs laws in this regard)

As a juror, based on what we know, I would easily find murder beyond a reasonable doubt. I wouldn’t need to even consider felony murder.

Yeah and I’m not sure it really matters. In Georgia the death penalty is still on the table for regular ole murder, and at any rate the minimum sentence for it is life in prison.

In Texas you (surprisingly) cannot get the death penalty for regular murder; you have to commit murder + another felony to get it. But looks like Georgia doesn’t go into that level of nuance

If someone said this about the MSB or twitter, you’d lose your shite and call everyone racist. If you can’t do it for one group, you shouldn’t be able to do it to another group. Equality, right?

POS hypocrite

Insulting a murderer vs insulting someone who was killed. Yeah you’re right, totally apples to apples comparison.

Wait nevermind, what you said was stupid. Please delete and try again.

Mike Cutter. I liked him too, though. Arrogant little bastard, but he’d do (almost) whatever it took to win.
