Yeah I agree. I was referring to reactions on here but this is part of it. I've seen posts from well educated professionals talking about the guys being white supremacists. Unless I missed something, that's wild speculation. But the race radicals can't just let the country join in condemning this, they have to inflict division by spreading misinformation to make it even more egregious than it is, and it happens in every such situation. And then people like me, who want white people who do bad things to be punished just like anyone else who breaks the law, have to fight the tendency to throw the baby out with the bathwater because these bad actors infect the discussion. And it just shows that the purpose for these folks is division, it's not justice. If it were justice, you'd have these folks acknowledging and celebrating the reality that most of the public is aligned in condemnation. Of course, more often than not, that's what happens. And if people admitted that, then the world wouldn't need Benjamin Crump or Shaun King.

I had not seen this before. If this is true, then I don't see how in the world this is not fricking murder at all.

Keep in my mind, this is the statement from the guy in the back of the truck. While it is riddled with lies based on the video, it does absolutely nothing to clear these guys regardless of the video.

But it was his aggressive actions that were the fatal mistake according to pirate kuck

I also don’t Arbery was simply out for a jog. Regardless, they fricked up.

Ok maybe he wasn't just out for a jog. Maybe he doesnt have a car to get around. Maybe he was going to a friends house to play video games. Maybe he went to a girls house for a booty call. Maybe he went to go spend time with grandma at her house down the street. Hell, maybe he even went to go buy weed from the drug guy.

Neither of those warrant him being ambused in the middle of the street by wannabe cops pointing weapons.

His reaction could have been to take the guys gun to defend himself from the other guy

In active shooter drills that the military runs, the last resort instructions are to actually fight for your life. If some pieces of shite are blocking your way in a roadway, you can logically assume that your life is in immediate danger.

PROTECT YOURSELF – Fight: As a last resort, and only when your life is in imminent danger, attempt to disrupt and/or incapacitate the active shooter by:

Acting as aggressively as possible against him/her.
Throwing items and improvising weapons.
Yelling.
Committing to your actions.

These guys weren't active shooters but they had weapons. If I'm this guy I've already seen that these guys are going to great lengths to pursue me. I would assume they had intent to use them if I were in that situation. It's either get shot in the back or at least go down fighting.

Ahmaud in no way in hell initiated contact. He attempted to escape them twice to no avail. As the "flight or fight" phrase comes to mind. He first attempted flight, and they blocked him off. They stood in his path with guns drawn waiting on him. In a way, the only chance he had left was to fight.

Yeah, I think it totally answers why he charged Travis McMichael.

He's been cut off twice, they're sitting with guns waiting for him, and when he tries to run around them, Travis jumps out and runs around to point a shotgun at him.

I'm sure he (very reasonably) thought he had to disarm Travis because there was no way they'd just let him jog away.

Here’s something to think about if y’all really want to know the motive behind the white guys’ approach.

Why was one of them filming instead of calling the police?

At some point he's got to get tired from running, he may have thought he's got to do something before he gets too tired to keep running

They called 911 before the incident, according to an article I read.

Maybe I'm weird, but in Arbery's shoes, if they've cut me off, redirected me, set up a roadblock and then the driver jumps out to point a shotgun at me...I'd think he intends to shoot me at that point and the only chance I have is to take the shotgun.

If Arbery kept running, Travis McMichael would have had at least 3 shots with Arbery within 20 feet of him. Given the circumstances, I can see why Arbery didn't want to give him those shots.

From the two calls here it appears they called at the start of them pursuing him.

Sadly, this all doesn't happen if they just let the actual cops on duty do their job.

Interesting. This conflicts with some of the assertions in this thread from earlier this morning.

I wonder what other facts will come out.

If they wanted to shoot him before the confrontation they would have just shot him, not gone to all the trouble to redirect him and all that. They would have started shooting as he’s running towards the stopped vehicle.

One of the tragic parts is reports that police were onscene immediately after the shooting.

It's a legit possibility that if the McMichaels followed Arbery for 45 seconds instead of their guns blazing roadblock, the police would have been there and no one gets hurt.

I tried to make this point earlier (and was accused of not knowing what "lynching" means). If these rednecks wanted to just shoot an "n-word", I'm not sure why they would have risked him even being in a position to get that close to them.

19-year-old indicted
for carrying handgun
A Glynn County man has
been indicted for allegedly
bringing a handgun to Brunswick High School’s campus
in December 2013 during a
basketball game between the
school’s crosstown rival, Glynn
Academy.
Ahmaud Marquez Arbery,
who was 19 at the time, was
indicted Jan. 28 for allegedly carrying a Big Bear .380
caliber pistol with him when
attempting to make entry into
the Dec. 3, 2013 basketball
game.
Glynn County School police
said at the time that an oficer
noticed a gun in Arbery’s
waistband, and he ran when
the oficer attempted to stop
him. Oficers put the campus
in a lockdown mode during the
foot chase.
In the course of the chase,
one school resource oficer fell
and fractured his hand.
Arbery is now facing
charges in Glynn County
Superior Court of carrying a
weapon within certain school
areas, carrying a weapon without a license and three counts
of obstructing an oficer

It was him

But I'm sure in this case he dindu nuffin

I don't see how his actions from 7 years ago have any bearing on this incident.
