Unfortunately, I would bet money that Jarvis is one of the guys they bring over to The Advocate. No way they lay him off and face accusations of RACISM!!!

Good grief. That statement is a complete and utter joke.
TD reported the Texas church shooting before it hit any media outlet. That was a major event.

I've seen local stories that I first heard about on TD. That said, I wouldnt consider it a good source of information. Ditto to the vast majority of newsmedia outlets, print or otherwise.
As to the OP, I hate to see people without jobs, but the product they were putting out was horrible by standards that are really low to begin with.
No one beats the market.
It took a few years, but even New Orleans die hards who were loyal to the name "Times Picayune" would eventually get tired of such a horrific product.

All of the newsroom definitely. Some of their sales team as well.

I don't recall them really giving a shite about upstream O&G workers losing jobs?
Hard to really care about these folks.

There's certain income that's guaranteed to any paper that becomes the paper of record (why the TP was forced to publish a daily version, limited in distribution as it was.)
An example from Tennessee: to enter an estate for probate, a published obituary is needed. Then the notice of death has to appear once a week for three consecutive weeks notifying all potential debtors of the death and requiring them to submit notice of moneys owed.
Some weekly paper has to do this. ($$$$$ in obituaries and estate notices), not to mention separation notices, foreclosures, and lots of other legal stuff.)

I am very interested to see who hires the race baiter POS Jarvis De Berry. We are watching.

Jarvis was the voice of one crying in the wilderness. Who will be left to fight all the white supremacy in Nola?

Tigerdroppings does not actually produced news. There is always a link to a news article.

I guarantee you the Advocate is going to hire him.. From what I understand they are already moving furniture around at the New Orleans Advocate for the new hires.

Many times the supposed legit news surfaces later. I’ve seen local weather, deaths, and sports released on this website way before a news agency confirmed. The link is the supposed confirmation but it doesn’t change that sometimes news breaks here 1st.

Aka links to someone's Twitter.
No one here is breaking news on their own with any regularity. That's not the purpose of this website.

Seriously, you should have to learn decent grammar before writing code.
Which with even today’s copy editors slips into publications.
Now this is coming from a guy that can barely string a few lines together with a few mistakes.
