Federal contracts always favor minority or women owner businesses.

I’ve worked with several contractors that put the business in their wifes name to get federal contracts.

True of state too. My DIL, a state lawyer has told me about this and how it is costing the state.

8A contracting is a huge scam.Usually the are engineering firms in name only and act as subcontractor to a bigger firm. It's merely a pass through vehicle for
a federal contract and usually can be written as a sole
source (no bid)provider.

Instead of her saying as a female blah blah blah engineer, she should have said as an engineer it is important to do things right?

First post under thread

quote:

Lead engineer, Leonor Flores, "We're able to put in an artistic touch and we're able to build, too." Building bridges is not flower-arrangement. The competence to build should be central to building bridges, not an incidental accompaniment to aesthetics. The reason that men are better at building bridges is not just the math... men are more connected with the culture of getting it right the first time. Unlike the culture that emphasizes flower arrangement and the artistic touch.

Wow. So they installed a suspension bridge without the suspension and no additional supports to keep it in place?

That’s pretty damn careless.

The only thing this thread proves is how gullible people are. You'll believe shite from a tabloid blogger but not an actual, trusted, news site. Stay dumb 'Merica.

Just checking in to comment on how diversity initiatives that prioritize anything other than merit over who gets to do a job are really stupid.

An acquaintance was telling me about his budding business and stopped to correct and say that it was actually his wife's. It was clear she didn't know anything about the subject. It all makes sense now!
