If it’s not officially hurricane season yet, why are they starting the names over with ‘A’?? Shouldn’t this be the next letter from last years hurricane season? Just sayin’

Sucks that it's hitting when it is. I know a ton of people that have been looking forward to the Sunday night Dave Mathews show at Wharf in Orange Beach for a few months. Many were going to tailgate much of the day at the Wharf. It's still on at the moment but only a matter of time before it's cancelled....and hopefully re-scheduled for later thus summer

Yeah I saw that. Surprised they havent given him a timeout yet

I think he just got his warning.

"I think it's also a good time to remind everyone to be respectful of everyone else, regardless of the color of your name."

And I love that baws are taking this seriously, and most seem to be reasonable about Alberto. I usually lurk and read rather than comment in these seasonal threads, and some people are ridiculous.

Conspiracy? Nah. Just bureaucrats who want their government funding to keep coming....

Hopefully it doesn't shift too far westward. Would be bad for NO. Models have been consistently pushing it ever so slightly more westward everyday though.

This is the major concern for NO and the gulf coast in general, these early season storms are not prolific wind producers but, rain producers. With all the rain the area has been getting and under a flood watch just for general afternoon summer storms, the soil isn't gonna take a lot to flood rather quickly especially with a tropical system.

Recon is in the air and NWS has started 6 hr balloon launches from Texas into the SE. Not certain on what data makes it into the 18z models but starting at 00z there will be extra data in the model runs.

GFS ensembles pretty tight between MS Coast and let's say Morgan City. Euro runs soon.

People are probably overloading his site. I know Steve Caparotta tweeted and said the plane was en route also when he gave the 1:00 pm update.

What app are people using for weather? I loved Storm but they just swapped over to Storm Radar and I don’t like it one bit.
