No blame on the companies for putting profits ahead of safety??

Aren't the companies part of society?

I knew I didn't know anything about flying, but this stuff blows my mind. I guess I always assumed the sudden change in air pressure would cause major problems.

Boeing quality has fallen off over the years as they put profits well ahead of safety. I’d think long and hard before stepping into a 737 Max

The 777x and 787 with their composite wings are some amazing airplanes. I wouldn’t write Boeing off just because of the 737 Max.

As I mentioned earlier the problems with the 737 Max took a toll. Boeing already built the full production line facility for the 777x that was meant to be commercial in 2019.

A Boeing plane put into service in Nov 2023 just had a door fall off mid flight in the United States. Sorry if I’m not that high on the company at the moment.

Boeing didn’t secure the door before flight and none, not a single 1, of the other 1159 planes in service have had this happen. What seems more likely? A door defect or a mistake by the ground crew?

I think you're likely correct, but wouldn't an alarm/buzzer alert the flight crew prior to takeoff?

Who knows. McDonnell Douglas had those defective cargo doors on the DC-10 with indicator lights and they blew several of those things off mid-air.

That was part of my point. DEI would be meaningless if these companies didn’t buy into it. They have culpability here as well.

Improper installation of the door is also highly likely.

The fact that it doesn’t happen anywhere else in the US strengthens the argument that it wasn’t a ground crew issue as they are trained to make sure it doesn’t happen.

Do you own Boeing stock or something?

Nope I just don’t like seeing Americans tear down one of the most successful American companies.

Fly Alaskan where there’s a 6% chance you get sucked out.

There’s also a chance you can have people in the cockpit on mushrooms.

At least the hole in the plane would keep the others from having to smell where I shite my pants up to my shoulders if I was in that seat!!!

I wish. I could use the paycheck.

I don’t care if Piggly Wiggly has a foot of water on their floors with a bunch of employees standing nearby texting. We all have eyes and need to be on the look out.

I just like planes I’m flying on to have the doors on them.

Fight Club

None of my life policies pay triple if I die in a plane crash, and I fly A LOT.
