Monday morning church. Incredible song. Can’t believe it hadn’t been mentioned yet.
Between the Devil and Me is another great one of his.
Blues Man is my favorite. Hits me in the feels everytime because I can sort of relate to it in a way.

My favorite! Saw him twice. Always joked that he followed me around and wrote songs about my life…. He and I are Close in age.
Peace Alan

Saw him once. Enjoyed it. Solid singer. What he sounded like on the radio is truly what he sounded like. Can't say that for a lot of people

Always felt his music was milquetoast. Just a bunch of very simple songs with zero depth. Mercury? Little Bitty? His entire catalog is meh.
That’s what makes him a fricking legend. Make songs out of simple shite very entertaining that will stand the test of time. I wish more “country” artists these days made songs like Alan did

FWIW, the small town he sang about(Newnan), isn't small anymore. The population has nearly quadrupled since 1980:
quote:
1980 11,449 2.2%
1990 12,497 9.2%
2000 16,242 30.0%
2010 33,039 103.4%
2020 42,549 28.8%

I’m not sure how many more shows if any Alan has left in him. This may very well be it. He looked really bad at the ACM awards.

You can saying for nearly every artist that has a long storied career.

Music is supposed to be enjoyable and make you feel good.
There is nothing more pretentious than musicians with a message. Yeah, Neil Young, you ended crass materialism. Dylan, we would still be in Vietnam if you hadn't nasally sang off key. Get over yourselves.
AJ has some great sing along country songs.

Only good song was a cover of Blues Man.

Gone Crazy is excellent. Wishful Drinking, from his 2021 album, is damn good, too. The Older I Get, Here in the Real World, Livin' on Love, Someday, Chasin' That Neon Rainbow, I'd Love You All Over Again, all great. I really, really liked his gospel album too.
AJ's the real deal

Bruh..Chattahoochee alone is a summer time classic.
Here in the real world? Come on..
Living on love.
And that's just a few.
I love his greatest hits collection.
