I saw this just as I was leaving the office to drive down 280. I admit I’m often oblivious to my surroundings as I drive to and fro work, but I made a point to look for signs. Between Whole Foods and Inverness area, I only noticed a handful. Burger Kjng, Saltgrass(though the wind had twisted the sign so can’t be sure), car wash by Burger King, Hamburger Heaven, and 2 other places I’m forgetting. To be fair, so many are far enough off the road it was hard to see, so I likely missed a few.

That's the game. Democrats want to keep the lazy on the dole as long as they can and make voting as easy as possible so the lazy people keep them in power.

He’s really not that wrong. Just look at this board and site. It’s made up of predominantly white collar college graduates that dick away their day at work arguing over petty shite while getting paid. We delude ourselves into thinking our jobs are making a difference when most of us are just paper pushers checking boxes to superfluous government and corporate guidelines. And we delude ourselves because it affords us a nice house, reliable cars, and a couple of trips every year. Most of us wouldn’t last one shift washing dishes at a busy restaurant, yet won’t bat an eye to call those dishwashers lazy.

He’s actually one of the few “liberals” or “democrat” “lefties” on here that stands his ground and for the most part gives respectful arguments. I don’t agree with much of what he says but he seems bright and overall a decent person

Much better than C on Z who can’t even use the correct vocabulary and others who post and then hide

I'm not sure what else I expected from you. Classic nonsense not even loosely based in reality. Keep your cheeks tight just in case your head starts to slip out of your arse tonight.

That's the truth as well. Most of the die hard Republicans wouldn't know actual hard work if it bit them in the arse.

Holy shite.

And the right are the crazy conspiracy theorists...

And how many did you see 18 months ago?

Very few because they could advertise online and have their spots filled in 24-48 hours...

Only emotional progressives think this.

The rest of us realize that it might be not such a fun way to go through life, but someone has to do it and we step up and do it.

And somehow we still find time to have a family and social life and go to our shitty underpaid jobs every single day. Also, we appreciate what we have and realize that we have made sacrifices to be able to do the things we do while acknowledging there are people out there who don't get to do the same things we do.

Why am I supposed to worry about the people that didn't want to take the same sacrifices or put in the same amount of time/work?

If they missed their opportunity, then, that's not my fault.

How many businesses are you aware of that are currently open 24/7? There used to be a large number of these in the Bham area. Do you know of any currently?

They aren't closed due to lack of demand. The people who would frequent these places late at night still would now.

haven't seen that in Birmingham, but maybe I just patron places that aren't experiencing it. Lowe's is the only place I've been recently that seems desperate for workers. They've had signs on their doors promising interviews on the spot for at least a few weeks now.

I live there too and there are help wanted signs everywhere, especially restaurants. Are you blind?

All I know is that just from looking at the Twitter comments on a couple of news outlet tweets on this, it has become clear that far too many people have little-to-no understanding of economics. So much so that it is frightening.

Right? The former plant baw who sits in an office all day because they are manager of some made up position that oversees an department to comply with some horseshite regulatory mandate is pissed at the guy on the street who doesn't want to be treated like a dog.

As long as they're pissed at poor people and democrats, they won't look and really see how both parties are the same. What's silly is how little of taxes actually make it to the people they hate so much. We want to talk about welfare? Look military spending and you'll see the biggest welfare budget in history.
