At least he got it on his arse, with pants on. My dad use to hit the back of my bare legs... shite hurt....

I can still hear that leather belt "swishing" through those belt loops....

Late to the thread, but that was entirely too much. Over 20 lashes and hair pulling? Way too far

It wasn't many, but I probably deserved everyone I got with some of the shite I did as a kid...

I learned my lesson...

Sad thing is, probably happened to her all of her childhood. Made her angry and resentful towards men, passed that on to her partners, when they leave the kids get the violence and resentment. This is deep levels of trauma that get passed on like a cancer.

it does. Your argument was worse abuse takes place so why care about this. You’re just a dipshit who didn’t think it through when you made your asinine comment.

Another thing to consider here is the punishment in context to the offense.

23 lashes, hair pulling, slammed into a wall, the onslaught of profanity/curse words in the face of the child are extremely out of proportion to the kid not finishing his chores.

Clearly the mother has other shite going in (likely mentally unhinged) and the kid not doing his chores was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

And I’m not at all defending her. If anything I’m pointing out that what we all watched was 100% abuse and well beyond punishment. The mother isn’t mentally stable to raise, nurture and disciple children effectively. Or humanely for that matter.

pretty sure I deserved most of the beatings but the worst one, and I believe the last one I ever really got, I was completely innocent

it was the day before field day at school so I wore shorts the next day and the backs of my legs looked like I'd been mauled by a lion, all the kids at the bus stop were like "what did you do to deserve that one?' it was the beating heard round the entire neighborhood

I had the same... I smashed dog shite in a girl's bike basket who lived a few doors down from us. Her mom made me clean it in front all the neighborhood kids. My dad came home from work in the process, when I was finished, he proceeded to beat my arse with the belt in front all of them. Never did that again.

I dont know the right choice between getting your arse strapped or quiet time for punishment but one worked better than the other

I wholeheartedly believe in corporal punishment, but I never handed it out when I was angry. Well, I don't think I've ever been as angry as this woman seems to be. I probably spanked my two kids maybe 5 times total.

Pro tip, if you're spanking one child, make the other watch. It'll keep them in line, too.

One or two would more than suffice and not that violently

Momma looks like she could use a good spanking herself.

If you can uncaringly beat your child while he screams in pain you are a severely broken individual.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a good arse whooping, but she went beyond that with the level of anger she displayed, the language she used and especially jerking him around be his hair.

I can't remember more than 10 strikes with a belt, but it was my dad who had precision aim.

Seems like mom lost her sh!t with the hair pulling,

That said, what kind of kid was this? Kid in my neighborhood started beating the crap out of his mom around age 12. Dad traveled a lot. Found this out later in life from his sister. The kid was a bit of psycho.

Hope the kids have a place to go because foster care is going to be grim.
