My cousin is an interior designer. She takes a "business trip" to Europe once or twice a year. She spends a couple of days checking out vendors. The rest is vacay.

No bodies have been removed because the NTSB wants the scene left untouched. So no formal announcement of the fatalities.
From Daily Mail
quote:

our of the victims have been identified by their families - Arnold, 46, Collins, 39, Mastrascusa, 43, and experienced pilot Jacob Hosmer, 47, as of Tuesday evening.

The other two - the second pilot and a female passenger believed to be a friend of Arnold - are yet to be publicly named.

Mastrascusa, 43, is identified as the Chef.

Captain Steeeve has absolutely no credibility among professional aviators and should be less regarded than a Margaret Orr weather forecast.

Just learned my good buddy was the copilot. His name has not come out yet. Some people in Lafayette may know him. This sucks. Being told black ice or wing contamination on runway got them. Apparently a couple commercial jets failed de-ice check right before they took off. IMO was probably completely avoidable had they decided to wait but probably got pressure from trip handler to take off anyway.

A reason for the trip is suggested (Daily Mail)

quote:

The plane was owned by powerful law firm Arnold & Itkin, and was being flow to Paris for a location scouting trip for Arnold and her husband Kurt's luxury travel venture.

Additional pictures of the snow and ice covered plane still on the runway and pictures of other wrecked planes of the same name that crashed similarly

I haven't watched many of his vids... i prefer blancorilio.

Was he not a pilot? Just a BSer?

He was going to be the SIC on AA11 on 9/11 until someone else claimed the flight.

Oh he's a pilot..and he makes sure you know that by wearing his uniform every time he makes a video. But his persona screams content creator 1st, subject matter expert 2nd. I don't want to classify his channel as unhelpful or inaccurate but he seems more worried about breaking the story 1st in lieu of being accurate. As a professional pilot I cringe when he says with certainty what the pilot should have done or was thinking well ahead of the investigation being completed.
Bottom line, at least with many in my profession, he has traded credibility for clicks. Reminds me much of the former NOLA weathercaster Margaret Orr. Nice lady but was over the top and did a lot of fear-casting at her viewers' expense, many of which were elderly and gullible.
I like blancorillo and Hoover at pilot debrief. No flash but a lot of substance.

Pilot Debrief is by far the best, most informative aviation based Youtube channel. Will be interesting to see what they have to say about this crash after the NTSB findings come out

Hoover does an excellent job at explaining things. I don’t have the first clue on aviation but I’m always interested in his debriefing videos.

You seem very naive. For a lot of companies it’s a numbers game and if they come out ahead they don’t care who they hurt. Class actions are but one method to change companies behaviors. Not everything is so binary, bud.

Look, I’m not trying to bash the dead. But holy frick.

So, this plane was fairly well known to have possible icing issues.

She has a crew basically of a herself and a rich event planners wet dream staff. Headed to Paris during Paris fashion week…

And they push their luck with weather…. RIP

I take all of these “experts” with a huge grain of salt, especially since I know a few of them
