They are dangerous in some cases. I heard about a family that was being pulled from their house by a aluminum boat and then a big airboat came blasting through and swamped them with his wake. Nearly capsized the other aluminum boat.

Friend got his boat sunk by a bay boat that stepped on it right in front of him. Wake crashed over the front.

Yeah useless, because you can't turn the motor off and paddle through neighborhood streets or anything once you get there listening for folks.

I wasn't out there, but running any boat on step in those conditions seems like a fricking terrible decision.

I wasn't out there either. I think the current was so strong in some parts that they had to step on it. Idk. Seems incredibly dangerous.

Yeah exactly. Between vehicles and people I cannot see any reason it would be neccessary outside of the current or being in the main waterway.
