This has to be one of those insurance estimates from a real estate site that is trying to make the monthly payments look reasonable. Those houses have 5 figure house/flood insurance yearly premiums.

Yeah...i figured you're too broke to vacation there. But please name some nicer beaches. It has ultra white fine sand. clear shallow waters along the coast. Nice deep blue water near coast. Please...tell me what's better

Insurance is probably killing them. I pay $7500 a year in Spring Texas

Yeah we pay $12,000/year on the water in Bay St.Louis for our camp. I'd imagine the Texas coast is similar.

You're right.

If you do a search for the nicest beach in the world, 30A pops up every time.

I'm sorry you fail miserably at reading comprehension. I get its hard for some of y'all mouth breathers. Never said it's "the nicest beach in the world" i said it has some...key work...some of the nicest beaches in the world. But anyway...enjoy Galveston.

Imagine thinking buying an Airbnb in Galveston was ever a good idea

I was wondering about this. Is Galveston even worth visiting anymore?

AirBnbs need to die. They had a huge hand in driving up housing costs, around the world. What you don't know is a lot of major hotels own Airbnbs. They saw a dip in hotel bookings years ago and started buying up houses and turn them into Airbnbs

At least Galveston is on the Gulf.

There are small towns in the Midwest that have a ton of Airbnbs and Vrbos. I don’t get it at all

30A is nice and all, but its nothing to write home about

as far as American beaches go, yes it is

The physical beach, for an American beach, yes. It’s ruined by the clientele for sure though

Hating on 30a beaches is so tryhard.

If you want to argue that it’s overpriced these days, I don’t disagree. It’s not where I choose to vacation but it’s still very nice.

When I moved to Houston, the first weekend I drove down to Galveston to see the beach.
I drove close to this large mass of brown water and the 'waves' were barely two inches high.
I thought I had not found the Gulf, but I had.

I was used to the midAtlqntic beaches. I never wanted to swim in that muck.

Property tax is also brutal in Texas.

Depends on your MUD district in Houston. We're worse than DFW, by far, but stop feeding the idiot Louisiana trolls that defend their income tax and actual need for private schools with, "muh! But TX has bad taxes! Muh!"
