it’ll just solidify on it’s own? What does a chunk of solidified CO2 look like?

Limestone

Also, they don't own Lake Maurepas, so there's that. It is pretty arrogant to make plans, and start doing seismic tests on somebody else's property.

Wait wut? The owners of the property have given the company leases to do exactly what they are doing.

Some mook came in and said they already have leases. It did not say that in the link from the OP.
The company received the rights from the State of LA to do this back in October of 2021 if you want to go pull the publicly available information rather than running your ignorant mouth.

CO2 and water make carbonic acid

How are they going to move the CO2? Carbonic acid will eat through steel in months. I’ve seen new J-55 tubing eaten away in less than 90 days from startup in an oil well from CO2 corrosion.

There are very strict compatibility requirements for tubulars and cement in these injection wells. There is specialized pipe out there. These wells will not be cheaply built

You know what type of material they use? I've been on wells where we used chrome production tubing due to corrosion issues.

If you follow Kinion Bankston or Southern Boys Outdoors on Facebook, he's kind of taken on the role on as speaker for the locals that are concerned about what s going on.

He went to BR yesterday and met with Air Products and asked questions.

Heaven forbid!

Good thing there are no essential organisms that depend on CO2 to live.

It's also fortuitous that those organisms don't make oxygen that mammals need to survive.

Not sure if it’s air products or another company but currently there are constructing the worksite for the first of 3 more co2 injection wells north of Holden in Livingston parish. This work is being done on a Weyerhaeuser deer lease. They have brought in roughly 1000 loads of dirt and chunk limestone as well as all the temporary trailer offices and heavy equipment. According to people who attended the meeting last week in Albany the lake mauerpas project is just in the surveying stage and that’s the only thing permitted by the state. They plan on setting off 17,000 charges throughout the lake that are the equivalent to a few sticks on dynamite each. They will drill a hole/ or sink a pipe down roughly 50-60 feet and set the charges off to record seismic vibrations.

I asked a simple question in this thread about rights to lake Maurepas, because I did not know. I was attacked by bitches that seem to have a personal financial interest in protecting this company.

So they have procured the right to the property. I am still not sure that this storing of CO2 should occur. Prepare to see these dicks attack me instead of explaining why this is good.

ETA: Hey downvote queers. Perhaps a nice soaking in the healing waters of Lake Maurepas would protect you from the Monkey pox.

From what I understand the state owns the area beneath the water. The lake bottom. So the state and parish will make a ton of money I’m sure

I don’t trust government nor big business. When you get my age, you’ll understand. This is not good for Louisiana. The best thing Louisiana could do is stop taking federal money and encourage non producers to move out of state. Eliminate the welfare state.
