An AI-Generated Artwork Won First Place at a State Fair Fine Arts Competition, and Artists Are Pissed -VICE
quote:
A man came in first at the Colorado State Fair’s fine art competition using an AI generated artwork on Monday. “I won first place,” a user going by Sincarnate said in a Discord post above photos of the AI-generated canvases hanging at the fair.

But Allen did not paint “Théâtre D'opéra Spatial,” AI software called Midjourney did. It used his prompts, but Allen did not wield a digital brush. This distinction has caused controversy on Twitter where working artists and enthusiasts accused Allen of hastening the death of creative jobs.
“TL;DR — Someone entered an art competition with an AI-generated piece and won the first prize,” artist Genel Jumalon said in a viral tweet about Allen’s win. “Yeah that's pretty fricking shitty.”

This can't be a surprise in a world that thinks it's ok for men to participate in women's sports and believes government and computers are the solution to all problems...

I guess there won’t be any spots at the commune for “non-binary gender fluid artist” anymore.

But I’m sure these artists cheer on the brave Men beating women In women’s sports.

Not gonna lie, I really like that piece. I'd hang it.

I’m sending this to a friend at Thunder Road Films in consideration of John Wick 6. My back is out, and I just laughed so hard I probably set myself back by like 2 weeks.

I follow an HP Lovecraft fan page on FB and when this AI program permitted the public to use it they would craft cosmic horror tales and use the AI to create imagery for it. It was pretty cool.
quote:
In 1899 King Leopold II of Belgium, who was the then private owner of the Congo Free State, knew there many scientific secrets, resources to plunder, hidden and unclaimed in his newly bought property, which happened to be larger than Westen Europe in size.
So it was a stroke of luck that the king’s German great nephew, Count Wolfgang Von Strassenberger desperately wanted to lead an expedition to traverse the innermost and until this day undiscovered (to western eyes) parts of the Congo and the secret treasures it held, on a steam boat down the Congo river.
Count Von Strassenberger had no experience in colonial expeditions especially in the most hazardous unknowns in the world, having only been somewhat of an observer on a Polynesian expedition in his his youth. But he was a philosopher, keen man of science and truth-seeker and was adamant that he would discover much on his expedition which would be funded entirely by his great uncle. Fame and monetary riches meant little to the German count who was a black sheep in his family.
There isn’t much information as to what happened to him next on his expedition apart from him and his crew went missing and were presumed dead, until the Count emerged 16 years later in 1915.
He is said to have been a sickly and aged madman, when he presented himself to the the Belgian officials in Stanleyville now known as the city of Kisangani in the now Democratic Republic of Congo.
In the Count’s mad ramblings, he spoke of cannibalism , the grotesque deaths of his entire crew, strange lost cities of devils not of this planet, juju magic spells, shamans with tentacled limbs, hideous river monsters, alien megalithic structures unknown to even most natives of the Congo, psychic visitations to a fairytale world called Xüaz and and other tales that would and still does make even the most rational of men quiver with fear.
He would make the point that much of what him and his crew experienced, happened in an anomalous place in the Congo akin in nature to the Bermuda Triangle. A place where the rule of our three dimensional reality, do not apply.
All of which was recorded by the Belgian colonial officials, much of which was put down to madness caused by Malaria and to spending too long in the fathomless jungles of the Congo.
The Count would die a few days later, never making it back to his native Europe.
On the Count’s person he had a rolls of film which were later developed in Paris and a yet to be released diary. These are some of the photos that have been kept under lock and key in the museum of Brussels, until now.

Liberal artists are trying to find a way to call AI art “racist”.

Did they do Lovecraft's cat?

Pretty amazing picture!
Pesky difference between AI and the artist is human awareness.
AI may just be able to 'paint' a better picture of Auschwitz than a human, but defy you to find AI that is aware of, ascribe, impart meaningfulness to it.

All they did was type in words, and it made those images?
