Yes 100 men would easily beat a gorilla. Attacking from all sides kicking at his knees. Once both knees were dislodged they would just kick and stomp it to death.
Or 80 men could just throw 20 men at the gorilla repeatedly until they knocked him down then throw the 20 men on top of him jumping on to smother the gorilla as all he could do was bite and grab the dead.

The only way I see would be to get the gorilla to do something like charge someone or a group and at the last minute they scatter causing the gorilla to fall off a cliff.
That said a gorilla, being an animal, would never keep attacking. Injury to him is life threatening and seeing the numbers he would attack and retreat as he is not a human predator.
Humans would have to be threatening his young for him to go on an all out killing spree.

I'd think the only strategy would be for a half dozen men try to maneuver to its backside and grab its legs from behind - then try to hang on while the other ninety grab and go for its eyes. Then watch it starve to death.

Yep. The trick is going to be to get enough of the 100 to go full zombie rush/smother mode and get the gorilla on the ground under dead and dying bodies, then more to get him fully pinned.
However many are left standing can figure out how to hit/kick/crush his head.

You have to get the son of a bitch tired. He has a gas tank, you need to take it to zero or close to before anyone starts charging in.
As a matter of fact as he tires the circle should start closing in little by little.

This is the answer right here. Just send wave after wave of men at the gorilla Russian style with the one simple goal of killing the gorilla by being trapped in a pile of dead people. You would kill probably most of the men in the process, but the gorilla would be dead too.

Yeah people are ignoring the sheer weight of 100 men and the endurance it would take the gorilla to keep fighting them off.
The mentality of the humans will determine the minimum number of likely success. 100 randoms would lose a huge chunk by running, breaking the line, avoiding strategy, etc. 10 dedicated, in-shape (as needed), and tained humans with the mentality and desire to win? Could likely have a human or 2 surviving longer than the gorilla.

Nothing worse than replies poking holes in the hypothetical. It’s a fight to the death and all parties are going to treat it as such.
