What an age we live in.

quote:

SCIENTISTS have successfully reversed the process of ageing in cells for the first time in a move which could help beat the likes of Alzheimer’s and dementia.

quote:

The decision on which type of ‘message’ is created by a group of around 300 proteins is known as “splicing factors”.

However, as we get older the amount of splicing factors the proteins are able to make steadily decreases.

Older cells are then ultimately less able to turn genes on and off to react to the environment which makes us more vulnerable to diseases which ultimately kill us off.

However, researchers have found a way to turn splicing factors back on.

This will get silenced with the quickness.

The world needs folks to die. Otherwise, a logistical nightmare will occur within 3 generations of people extending life!

Agreed. I watched it eat away at my great-grandmother for several years and it was very difficult to watch.

This breakthrough, combined with the advances scientists have been making in cellular immunotheraphy, could also help in the fight against cancer as well.

Can’t wait for the hydrogen sulfide tablets to hit the supplement market. I’m gonna grab a box of popcorn and watch all the health nuts drop like flies.

50-Tiger May or may not be trying to be sarcastic I cant tell without tone but I agree. There are so many negative implications about expanding life far beyond normal spans.

Oh my god. We can extend Tiger Woods' golf career forever. He may finally be able to catch Jack.

Extending life is great as long as we are also extending quality of life.

This does both.

But if this becomes too successful or mainstream we'll deplete our resources. The earth wasn't meant to sustain beings that could live forever.

Who's going to pay my social security? But it'll probably be as hard to get prescribed as HGH.

We could go to other planets, develop technology that would make the planet more resource rich or bring in resources from other planets and space.

Anything that helps eliminate Alzheimer's and dementia I'm all for. frick those diseases. My grandfather was the most brilliant and hard working man I've ever been around and it turned him into a child needing to be taken care of every day. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy
