Cameras have come a LONG way. The pale blue dot was taken from just over 3 million miles away by Voyager, and the earth is .12 of a pixel.

Yet in the ESA probe pic you can even see clouds.

I think that it is partly due to that bright star in the background screwing up the lighting of all the photographs.

I didn't realized the OT had so many camera experts.

Apparently taking a photo from space ain't so simple. Like someone posted above, there are very few non-composite photos of earth.

I do wonder what the earth looks like with the naked eye, and how it differs from NASA photos.
