1. Is this photo fake because filters were required to correct for the absorption of red light in water?
2. Is this photo fake because you can't see the stars in the presence of other light?
3. Is this photo fake because the original was actually a negative, which looked much different?
4. Is this photo fake because it's not actually a photograph, but a digital representation of one?

Go to Best Buy and look at a wall of Tv's all on the same channel and they will look different. Do you think that means what you are seeing isn't real? The reasoning is similar. Different methods and processing of the colors, etc. Film versus digital, for example.

I can only assume that you are a Cal supporter because you think they have a cool mascot. A graduate of one the nations premier universities wouldn't actually believe what you are implying or at least would be able to build a strong case beyond "it's a fake." Of course, this could also be one of the best OT trolls in recent months!

I find it both funny and embarrassing that either of you think scientists should just take a regular old picture of the Earth. The Blue Marble was taken on a regular camera with special film, but we're not sending satellites to space to satisfy IceTiger.
They take the pictures with three different filters that are actually useful from a scientific standpoint. They combine the three filters to create "true color" images. If you want a "real" picture, take one out of your window seat on a plane.

Literally none of this happened. They superimposed the aurora picture taken in UV light in 2016 over a photo of Jupiter in 2014 and they told you they were two separate pictures when the released it.
