After a Mongolian couple died from the plague last year, which they caught from ingesting raw marmot meat, a 15-year-old boy in western Mongolia has died of bubonic plague after eating an infected marmot, the country's health ministry has announced.
According to the AP, plague is found in marmots and several other wild animals in parts of Mongolia, northwestern China and eastern Russia. An official announcement has recently been issued warning the residents of Bayannur region of Inner Mongolia to avoid eating marmot and to report dead animals. The warning will reportedly last through the end of 2020.

Eating Marmots is weird and all but we eat some strange arse animals in South Louisiana too. They must not be as clean as us when it comes to cleaning animals and preparing the meat though because this shite never happens down here

The plague does pop up in isolated cases every now and then though. Most of the cases are in Africa and certain parts of SA and Asia.
