Rouses has Prime though

I think that is WF's biggest problem. So many local and regional chains have upgraded their stores and products. And as others have noted, Trader Joe's is killing them.

They aren't that special place any longer that people only have one choice to get high end stuff. Rouses in the CBD even has a roof top garden. Even Dorignacs in Metairie renovated after not doing anything for a few decades and looks nicer and offers more nice stuff.

And as bad as Fresh Market is doing, they have to be hurting WF as well.

Nope, just near the Galleria still. They were talking about it for a little while, but they're just going to build a huge HEB plus in our neighborhood.

I have one five minutes from my house and never go

I always pass by and say, "oh yeah, there's Whole Foods." Seriously the last time I went there I spent $6 on pears that weren't any better than the ones I get at Kroger.

Regular grocery stores have upped their games plus you have Sprouts, central market, and Trader Joe's expanding.

I didnt realize HEB and Central Market are the same thing

And it may be a weeknight for you, but we are under a snow emergency tomorrow so I'll be "working" from home.

im telling you that if you buy chicken breasts from WF or WM its the exact same quality because it comes from exactly the same supplier to the storage warehouse

Yea this statement is pretty broad considering the amount of options available for chicken.

And Trader Joe's is much inexpensive then Krogers. Trader Joe's Brand foods is high end stuff found in Krogers at much less costLINK

Let them close. You want HEB and Central Market in that space anyway.

It's not. Trader Joe's packages a lot of garbage with their name on it and people think they're buying high quality.

That store is a joke and made for people who don't know how to cook or make a grocery list

Fresh Market

Is a smaller version of Whole Foods with even higher prices.

Really great for consumers to have all the competition in that market. 20 years ago there probably wasn't a "high end" grocery store in the state.

The one on Veterans in Metairie will be out of business in 6 months.
There are like 7 grocery stores within 3 miles of them.

Have you been to a wegmanns? I'm just curious to hear a comparison.

I love going to wegmanns and then going less than a mile away and getting my beer from Trillium. Makes for a good Sunday when you can have a few glasses and eat from whatever food truck they've got.
