I agree with this. I would prefer pre-social media life these days.

There isn’t anybody in their 20s running those companies. That is just ridiculous.

I don't know if the OP fits the mold of what I'm talking about here. But it is always hilarious how people will rag on social media sites such as fb, ig, Twitter, for a variety of reasons ( many of the reasons are valid). But simultaneously will have 75,000+ posts on here.

Just admit it, all this social media stuff/message board stuff is really all the same. Alot of the things that are said about fb can be said for TD, just in a different context. Truth be told, it's all stupid pointless entertainment that we waste hours of our life on simply because we are bored. We all do it. It's just the way of life for humans in the 21st century. Accept it, I have.

I don’t have that many posts. I come here to read about LSU football and occasionally peruse other boards. However, a message board is a little different than social media. You can remain anonymous which takes away the need of trying to get attention. There are a few exceptions as with all things.

The root of it is insecurity. Women are pretty insecure by nature, so FB likes become the ointment for a cold sore that won't heal.

Lickitty Split, dont act like you have the gumption or the —dare i say— pinache, to question the reading comprehension of a scholar like Paul.

the internet is a double edged sword.

on one hand, social media is the scourge of society and causes division and hatred unnecessarily.

on the other hand, i can take off towards a location, arrive, get a hotel, find dinner, and buy tickets to something from my phone.

my children will never know the fear of being in the back seat with dad cussing because he doesn't know where he's going or where a hotel is with a crapshot of what the first thing we find on the side of the road for dinner like i did in the early 80s.

This young thing won’t lose her job over her rant the other day, although some would argue is because she is ________.

What is up with the incel infestation lately? There are so many sad, pathetic posts on here complaining about women. Guys, get off the internet and go to the gym. Stop being so insufferable for a second and you may just get laid sometime.

There’s a new thing that teachers are being told about.

The students nowadays aren’t so much worried about their socioeconomic status. The new worry is their sociometric status. In other words- How much of a social media presence do they have?

60% of teenage girls wake up in the middle of the night and check on average 3 different social media platforms. Many teens will take down posts if they don’t get enough hits or likes because it is embarrassing.

These kids (and many adults) are ruining themselves with social media.

I admit to looking at recent posts on here curious as to up/downvoted amounts or if anyone has replied.

It took you way too long.
quote:

1) Social media platforms are overwhelmingly, if not exclusively, feminine apps/websites.

tigerdroppings.com is social media site. This place probably has 99% male membership.
quote:

Social media platforms have done more to harm society than help it.

arguable b/c lots of wonderful, charitable things happen but I do often hate social media so I'll allow it.
quote:

Unfortunately people, mainly females, worry about how many likes or loves or retweets they get.

Have you people on Twitter or reddit? Don't get me wrong, woman love retweets, likes, and upvotes BUT this is not gender specific. You posted this thread hoping to get upvotes.
quote:

Lots of people have used social media to aid in their adulterous behavior.

quote:

People say things through social media, this applies to message boards too, that they would never say to another person’s face. People have lost jobs over their posts.

You aren't wrong, but before social media, the angry people just called in to AM radio talk shows all day and wrote letters to the papers and magazines. Social media has given many a voce that would have never had it otherwise (many of these people I wish would shut the frick up, but that's out of my control).

I can see the upvote thing on FB perhaps, especially with teens, but not on here. It’s a for the most part anonymous MB. I do check to see if I get a reply depending on the topic, but more in a I don’t wanna leave someone hanging way.

the main thing that I have learned from 15 years on social media is that people blame social media for literally everything
